Exclamation EA rules!!! (Madden&NCAA info)

Good ol' EA is at it again!!!

http://xbox.ign.com/articles/434/434441p1.html

August 19, 2003 - If you recently purchased Madden NFL 2004 for the Xbox, you might have noticed a problem importing your draft class from NCAA Football 2004. EA has acknowledged the problem and released the following official statement:

"EA is aware of an issue with Madden NFL 2004 XBOX not being able to import a draft class from NCAA Football 2004 XBOX. This is only an issue on the XBOX version.

We are currently researching this issue and we will fix it as soon as possible. Look for future info from us shortly."

--------------

Not that this will apply to many people here, seeing how it's the X-box version. Something like this is unacceptable in a "finished" console product. Don't worry, I'm sure the EA support for X-box Live will allow for an immediate update...

The EA response I got last week was to send a page out of your manual for a new copy of the game.

Thank you for contacting us about Madden NFL 2004 for the Xbox. We are
aware of the problem relative to the importing a draft class from NCAA
Football 2004 for the Xbox and want to rectify this problem as soon as
possible. In order to do so, please send us page 43 & 44 from your
Madden NFL 2004 Xbox manual with your complete shipping address written
on this page. Send original, do not send a photo copy. After Labor
day, a new disc will be sent to the address on this page (it takes this
much time to manufacture replacement product). This new disc will
resolve the problem. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you
for your time and understanding.

OK Cool.

I'm still hoping to get the Xbox version. This is probably why they don't have any. I may end up going with PS2 or Cube versions, though that means memory cards.

I love Xbox because the hard drive makes game saving so much easier (and cheaper).

I was originally pretty mad about the draft bug, but now I'm not so sure I even want to import drafts. I have been reading that the way players develope in NCAA leads to the entire draft being players with ratings in the 80's.

I did that when Sierra recalled FBPro. Took it to Wal-Mart. They couldn't find it in the recall system, but they believed me. Funny thing was when I saw it (the exact box I returned) the next day on the shelf. I had to remind the clerk that it was recalled. She looked it up and indeed it was than in their system.

Well at least EA handled it better than Sega did when it was discovered you couldn't import classes from NCAA Basketball to NBA 2k3... it took Sega months to even acknowledge that there was a problem. Hell, I don't think it's even fixed yet....

So essentially, since you don't have to return the actual disk....

You could hook a friend up with Madden (Who doesn't care about the import problem).

Anybody want to hook a friend named Marmel up with Madden?

I will pay for shipping, of course.

Hmmm...time to pay Blockbuster a visit. I sure hope that they include the manual in the box since it seems like it's in there only about half the time...

Haha to you guys who bought both Madden and NCAA, which is just the same game with different teams and one has a few extra games per season.

Hehehe ... IF I rent at Blockbuster or HV ... I always check to see if there's a manual. If not I don't rent. Too many times I'd get a game home and couldn't figure out the controls.

Oh and if you want to rent games check out this place

GameFly

$13.95/one game or $21.95/two games out at once. The Netflix of game rentals. Just tell them mrskippy75 AT netscape.net sent you.

How wrong you are! NCAA plays like crap out of the box, but is much deeper, Madden plays great out of the box, but doesn't have the immerstion NCAA has.

Ok, it's Marmel here, but he's missing out!
