2009 College Football: Week 2 Discussion

I'm, of course, very interested in UCLA/Tennessee, but I'll be taping a youth football game before coaching my own team at the same time this one's going on.

I am looking forward to the Notre Dame/Michigan and USC/Ohio State games, despite not being a fan of any of the programs. I'm also hoping that Mizzou shuts out Bowling Green and puts up 90 on Clawson.

I have to wake up at 9 am to watch Stanford/Wake Forest...Hopefully the players are more awake than I am.

I always thought that early football games on Satruday and Sunday would be one of the advantages to living on the West Coast. I like the idea of football starting at 9:30 or 10:00 am and being done by around 8:00 pm or so, especially now that I get up early anyway.

The drawback, of course, would be 4:30 pm or 5:00 pm starts to weekday NHL games. Those would be tough with work and all.

Well if they listen to Nirvana before the game that ought to put them back to sleep.

Michigan/Notre Dame should be a good one. Ohio State/USC will be entertaining as well.

Love that it's football season again.

I would. That triple option is a bitch to defend, and then add in the fact Dwyer is a focal point back there. Oof.

I got GT 34 - 21

So am I, but in reverse.

If Spiller's healthy I honestly think you may score 40 on us. And I don't know if we can hold onto the ball well enough to match that.

Not sure how it looks on TV, but there is a much closer mix of fans in the stands now then I wouldd think.
We always travel well, GT is smaller...but its probably 70/30 maybe even 65/35 white to orange..

GO TIGERS!

I'm currently slightly less worried than I was before kickoff. Still worried, just not as worried.

Man. The execution of this offense so far is light years ahead of where it was last year (except for the passing of course). I think I'm starting to sip the kool-aid.

Good camera work to catch Parker screaming into his helmet.

edit to add: I was curious about the guy (#16) who they showed coming over to encourage him a little later so I looked him up. Third string RS-JR QB Michael Wade, a 4.0 student whose parents both lettered at Clemson, mom in volleyball & dad who was on the 1981 Championship team.

Man, Josh looks terrible throwing the ball. No touch at all, just flinging it and praying someone in white runs under it. He's seriously regressed, he was more accurate than this in high school.

Our defense is getting exposed here, we dropped 8 and still got lit up.

Now 0-8 on third down. And with this offense of all things.
This is not, repeat, NOT an top 10 team (which they would have had a shot at with a dominant win here)

Okay, make that 1-9 after an unusual defensive holding on the punt attempt before the kick. Of course it's three & out after that.

Is it just me or does Nesbitt's footwork on straight pass plays look incredibly awkward?
