Reggie Wayne is an emerging "star". I actually drafted him late in a draft last year hoping that teams would team up on Harrison, and Wayne would take the #2 spot during the preseason and produce some nice numbers. Other teams couldn't stop Marvin and Reggie didn't step up, last year. This year, he should be fairly reliable for points, though this week may well have been his biggest of the year.

I'd definitely take Wayne over Reed at this point. I was actually lucky enough to have him starting on two of my fantasy teams last week. Hopefully he will keep it up.

1. Drop Porter? Yeah, I'd consider it. It really depends on how badly you need his roster spot, and who's on the waiver wire. He's out for another month, and the way that Raiders offense looks he might not do much when he gets back.
2. Keep Duce? He's not a bad option as your fourth RB, so again unless you really need his roster spot I'd hold onto him. At the very least, give the Eagles another week or two to see if they can start clicking. I don't think Staley will do much this year, but if you already have him (and some solid RBs in front of him) you might as well hold onto him. 3. Reggie Wayne? I like him. I'd pick him up, and yes I'd rather have him than Reed at this point. |

This leans toward a scoring league. Porter scored 12 touchdowns in 19 games last season (not to mention more than 900 yards). He's an emerging star and one of the keys to what was the most powerful passing game in the NFL until about a month ago.
Healthy, and with last year's Gannon and supporting crew, Porter has the potential to be a top five receiver. So, you have to decide A) whether he sounds serious when he says he'll be at full strength by week 9 and B) whether the geriatric crew that includes Gannon and Rice can reach the level it did last season. If you can answer "yes" to both questions, there's no doubt whatsoever Porter is worth the roster spot. Reed is basically a complete waste of roster space. Wayne is a nice pickup, and worth much more than Reed, but not worth more than a healthy Porter. He has a bye-week conflict with Burress, which lowers his value a tad. Staley? With your lineup, why bother? If Portis were seriously hurt I'd keep him, but otherwise, there's no sense at all with just one RB slot and one RB/WR slot. You're just as well off using Stallworth in the RB bye weeks. Your one problem with releasing Staley is week 10, though a healthy Porter, of course, makes that much less a problem. |
