Can't wait for the games. Hines Ward jersey is on, butterflies in the stomach. It feels like a Football Sunday.

straight-up...i think Harrington could have a year within +/- 10% of league average.

not horribly mediocre but not good

Soon we will see how Childress is using Peterson and Taylor, along with how ready Tarvaris Jackson is as a starting quarterback. Hopefully they can move the ball.

Browns fumble snap on punt and commit 4 penalties on the same play to give the Steelers the ball on the 22. Four plays later Big Ben to Hines Ward for 6 and the first TD on the first Sunday of the season.

Parrish punt return for a TD, 7-0 Bills. Tacklings was inexcusably horrible. Gonna be a long year if that doesn't change.

Eagles muff a punt return (but it looked like interference with the punt returner) and a crazy scramble for the ball and batting of the ball leads to GB recovering it in the endzone for a TD. Terrible crazy play but that should have been an interference call.

He never called for a fair catch and got smacked after he caught the ball. Interference is when the player interferes with a punt returner's ability to catch the ball. Once he touches the ball, he's fair game.

For some reason, I was thinking they have to give them a yard worth of space?

Yeah, that was a good play. No interference should have been called. The Packers defense is playing well and the Eagles offense is killing themselves with penalties. Interception by Nick Barnett! I'm actually optimistic that the Packers can pull this one out.

If you have a weak stomach, be careful of the Den/Buf highlights tonight. Ko Simpson broke his leg (right below the knee) Horrible injury.

As far as the game, Jay Cutler just made an incredible play. Bootleg and Kelsey had him dead to rights, he spun away and hits Graham for a 15 yard gain. Denver first and ten from the Buffalo 11.

If a player calls for a fair catch, then they have to give him room to make the catch. Since he didn't, as long as they don't touch the punt returner or the ball before the punt returner makes the catch, it's not interference.

Thanks. I forgot the Halo rule was abolished. I retract my statement then. Just a terrible play by the punt returner and a good play by GB.

The Eagles need to start making some plays after GB hits a 53 yard FG to make it 10-0.

Even though they've layed off the halo rule a little in college, you still have to give the guy room to make the catch in college. (making the catch=making the FULL catch) In college, that would have been a penalty.

Denver, for some unknown reason, runs the ball three straight times from the 11. Elam kicks a FG on 4th and 2. Buffalo 7, Denver 3. Cutler has 1 incompletion and it was a broken play shovel pass.

That kicker sure has got a powerful leg. Kickoffs into the endzone every time and that 53 yard FG looked easy to him.

That would be Mason Crosby, a guy who the CU coaches said they'd allow him to try a 70 yard FG in college. He has the most powerful leg I've ever seen.

Thanks to everyone posting thoughts on the Pats/Jets (even you DT), as I sit out here in Idaho trying to figure out which website's Gamecast is best.

Simeon Rice comes in for his first play on a 3rd and 5, bats down a pass to force a punt. Good start there.

lol...even me?

i'd try to be more balanced, but the jets haven't really shown me much...they're creeping up and cheating on the run and going to get burned for it i'd bet.

pennington has looked...okay.

Whoever is doing the data feeds for GB/PHIL is an idiot. They just reported a 3rd and 1 run as resulting in no gain to stop the Eagles and force a punt. OOPS! He actually picked up 4 yards. First Down!

nope. Pass protection has been phenomenal. He has literally had ALL DAY to throw. My dad and I are sitting here laughing about it. At one point 2 pats O-Lineman literally stood a Jets D-Lineman up and lifted him off the ground. And they just absolutely leveled another guy on a double-team. Ran into him with a shoulder-block and knocked him over. Brady hasn't even gotten dirty. And he's like...8/10 or 9/11 or something. One of the incomplete passes was a total drop by Welker he should have had.

I know, esp. when you throw the Colts in there, which I like as well. This is really different than the 1980s and early 1990s when the top 5 teams or so were all NFC.

good coverage by the jets secondary despite NO pressure on brady forces a 43 YD FG attempt (which misses via bad snap)
