TCY New Mexico
With the NFL draft coming up, and interest in college football starting to brew, I'm going to post a tcy dynasty here.
I'll be moving to Santa Fe at the end of the summer, so I'm going to start out coaching New Mexico in the Mountain West. |

Utah is picked to finish first in the Mountain West. New Mexico is picked to finish 7th, or next to last.

Bednarsh and Amundson will compete for the starting job. Both are scrambling style qbs with not a lot of throwing ability. I'll likely go with Bednarsh, redshirt Amundson, and play a lot of option the next couple of years. Stevenson has some potential and is worth keeping an eye on his development. Code:
Smistad, Dennis, and Lincoln are all pretty much indistinguishable. We'll rotate them for now. Calmus and Sales will redshirt. Both have some decent potential. Code:
Clinton and Kurtz both graduate after this year. Perry Frederick (6'3, 245!) is the best blocker and overall talent. He'll likely start for the next two years. A position I need to recruit for this year. Code:
A fairly deep talent pool here for my team. Hoffman is a crunching blocker; Wilcox a terrific reciever. Both Carlson and Harvey have upside. Code:
T.J. Homer looks to be a solid reciever; he'll graduate this year. James and Blair will redshirt and look to be good prospects. |

Terrance Arnold at Center and Jimmy Thomas at Tackle will lead a weak offensive line. Arnold's the only senior, but given the lack of impressive prospects behind him, I need to recruit hard here. Mayes, Gilmore, and Garrison will probably be my other two starters. Last edited by st.cronin : 04-13-2005 at 03:49 PM. |

Yikes. My defensive line doesn't seem likely to scare anybody. Wilt and Wallace are probably my top two linemen. Code:
Shannon Weller and Edwin Rude look solid. Grady Donovan, a walk-on ILB redshirting this year, is perhaps my best prospect for the future. Very little here in terms of underclassmen. Last edited by st.cronin : 04-13-2005 at 03:50 PM. |

We're playing a two tight end offense to start, with lots of options. Our initial recruiting focuses on california and texas (where the sol 8 is). There's only one NM prospect on my short list right now: OLB Daryl Witherspoon, from Santa Fe.

My recruiting strategy normally is to focus on academic preparation, so most of those guys will NOT be ready to play next year. Most of them should have plenty of time for weights and film, though. I suspect I'll be moving to a more balanced offense this year, as well. I've got 7 starters on defense, and 6 on offense, coming back for year 2.

Also, apparently my girlfriend has been playing TCY. I normally put the Sol 8 in Texas, but somehow it's located in Alaska this time. |

I have quantity if not quality here. Smistad graduates this year; he'll start. Devine will redshirt; he looks to be a 4 year starter potentially. Smistad went out with an injury last year, and he'll get first crack at the job again. Code:
Perry Frederick played very well last year. Bucky Connell will take over next year. Connell and Devine should be a good backfield. Code:
Hoffman tore his ACL towards the end of last year, and he gets a year off to recover. Carlson is the best blocking option; Harvey the best pass-catcher. |

I switch over to a pro-style offense where I hope to stay for a while. We lost a lot of talent on defense to graduation. My goal is to match last year's record, 4-7.

Not as close as the final score. Stevenson gets 60 yards on 11 carries, and doesn't turn the ball over. Frosh FS Stanton grabs another INT, his 6th of the year. |
