NOFL: Week 7 has started! Next deadline is 9/15/08 at 10:00 PM*
With Karlifornia being out of commission and no sign of him getting the gam in during the next hour, I went ahead and advanced as I'm about to head to bed. As long as Ike doesn't start deviating from the model predictions, we should keep power here. Barring power outages, we'll advance to week 8 by Monday night. No human vs human games this week, so I'm hopeful we might get done a bit early.

Recruiting done. I'll get my game in today. Ranked #12! I should go higher this week as I take on #8 Mizzou. I'm glad that I also have Texas and Oklahoma on my schedule. There's a real chance I'll get to play for the National Championship! w00t!

FRACK! I'm up 28-7 at No. 5 Kansas when I'm reviewing the halftime stats. Nearly perfect half for me. I got resume and accidentally overshoot Resume Game ... landing on quit game. An unfortunate series of button mashing ensues and next thing you know the game is quit.
Worse: Restart the game, 6:29 left in the first quarter -- Kansas 7, Colorado 0. |

Well, that's what I get for shooting my mouth off. We lost 24-36. It was hard to overcome 5 INTs and a fumble. I knew it was bad when they went down and scored a TD on their opening drive and I threw an interception right after that.
I stopped them and scored a TD, tying up the game 7-7. Stopped them again and fumbled which they scored a field goal off of, bringing the score 7-10. It just got worse from there and the more I drank beer, the worse it got. At one point, they were up by 17 points and I came back in the 4th quarter to come within 7. Good game though and I enjoyed it. |

Huge comeback win for Oregon State 36-30 over WSU... down 27-7 at the half after giving up a hail mary TD as time expired (last time I control the DB and go for the interception )
A goal line stand and an INT in the end zone on 4th down in the last 4 minutes to keep the win. Pretty huge seeing as I had the vast majority of my recruits visiting this week - hopefully I will seal up some commits next week. |

Definetely a big game for me recruit wise. It was against Arizona (1-4) at home, and surprisingly Arizona was rated 84 overall. Though their running back was decent, their QB was absolutely awful. He threw 4 picks, one of which sailed well over his wideouts head into the arms of Wopamo Osaisai who took it back for a TD. I controlled the game from the get go. He threw a pick on his very first pass of the game and the rest went pretty much the same. Andrew Luck had another good game, passing for over 300 yards with a pair of scores, but he also threw a couple stupid picks late in the game both of which came in the red zone. Anthony Kimble ran for 90+ yards on about 15 carries too. I had 7 recruits visiting this week, broken down like so.
5* - 2 recruits (including a Halfback) 4* - 3 recruits 3* - 2 recruits If I can land an A or A+ for these guys it could be huge for my recruiting class this year.

We fell behind 14-0 in the first half, before a safety sparked a momentum turn, and we rattled off 22 straight points to avoid complete humiliation. We suck. Our RB couldn't gain any yards, and our QB Crane was throwing picks left and right. Our backup RB started running effectively and really helped us turn the tide. So despite having inferior ratings almost across the board, he is our new starting RB. |

I win my debut with Virginia, 28-21 over ECU. I was up 28-7, then starting choking.

Considering the opponent, we didn't exactly cover ourselves in glory. I felt like I was DeToxRox, for god's sake.

As I posted in the RFL thread, I'm going to have to bow out. I found out yesterday that I'm going to be on the road pretty much non-stop for the next few months as we try to get our company sold.

Stupid work getting in the way of what is truly important...playing in NCAA Football online leagues. I was dreading our matchup next week cartman and I'd much rather play the AI than you. Hope work goes better for ya and maybe catch ya back next season.

Anyone left to play for this week? I recruited last night (bye week for me) and noticed only a couple guys left to play recruit.

It looks like everyone but EF27 has played their game and gotten in their recruiting, and he has a bye so hopefuly we can advance tonight. Cartman obviously didn't get his game in this week, and I know sometimes it can take a bit to find the best fit for a replacement.

We've already found a replacement. WVUfan will either be taking over Arkansas or Vanderbilt (I forgot to ask him which team he wanted when I invited him.) So, I'm going to give him until the deadline to get his game in. Either way, I'll be playing my game a bit later today.

WVUFan has accepted Arkansas and an invite has been sent out. He knows that he has until tomorrow night to get the game done. I did my recruiting and as soon as he posts that he is done, I'll go ahead and advance (or I'll check this evening.)

Thanks everyone. Game played and recruiting done. Lost to Auburn 27-10, but I was in it until the 4th quarter. I benched my starter for Ryan Mallett at QB, and he did much better under more pressure than my starter.
We should be good to advance.
