Amazing. I fall to Buffalo in the NOFL with Mississippi State, but they manage to upset #5 LSU in this dynasty last week.
Kodos, sorry about the mix-up, but Florida was #3 last week, and Oklahoma was #4. Sorry about that. Last edited by Galaxy : 08-28-2008 at 07:01 PM. |

It was a wild game....What the hell is with the Stanford running back? He just jukes, bounces off guys, spins, and cuts like crazy. You can't get him down. I have yet to play a back like him. Anyways, we were down 35-21 in the last minute of the game, when we struck and scored a touchdown. We kicked it deep because I pushed the regular kick-off and I didn't want to waste one of three timeouts. 50 seconds left, they run it and I forced a fumble. I get it back at the Stanford 45-yard-line with 45 seconds left. We drive. With seconds left, we scored from 15 yards out! They try to ice my kicker, but it didn't work. Go into OT, they get the ball first. They just throw and run all over. My defense has been playing crappy all game (and quarterback as well). On the following possession, it's third and 8. We try to run a screen, but the pocket collapses and my halfback is covered by two Cardinal players. We force it, and it's picked off to end the game. I'm riding the emotions of this game, and an e-mail I received in regards to potential employment. So now I'm confused. Last edited by Galaxy : 08-28-2008 at 09:42 PM. |

Actually, I just checked it tonight after my game from a different place. Take your time. This place, I was sort of just taking a random shot in the dark (I actually sent just contacted them early this morning) to see what they had. I'll talk to you through PM. Oddly, I had a bad feeling going into this game after seeing how close they played bigsmooth and the Huskies. If you go back to the week 5 thread, I even posted my concerns. It just hurts more when you lose a game like that because you get low, then excited, then heartbroken. It's easier when you just play suck it up (and we kind did for most of the game). That's sort of how we played (not as crappy we did against Dex and Michigan, but Dex made a bad decision and we took advantage of it) in a few games this year. Wow. I just had my best finish ever. So amazing that in the hooplah I forgot to save the highlight, but to set the stage, I am up 35-32 vs Illinois with 1:24 left when it's time for me to kick a chip shot FG. My kicker, who isn't very good, hit's the upright to keep the game 35-32.
Illinois, with 1 TO, drives down the field thanks in part to two long passes to Benn, one of which he almost broke but a shoestring tackle by Warren saved me. They get down to my 12, and on 3rd and 5 Juice Williams takes off toward the endzone, only to be crushed by Brandon Graham, a yard short of the first. Even with my attempt to ice the kicker, they hit the FG and I just assume it's time for OT. On the ensuing kickoff, Morgan Trent, who has one other return this season, grabbed a kick on the left sideline and took off straight ahead. Two huge blocks later, it's Trent and the kicker left, but the kicker has the angle. I do that move where you stop, retreat back, and let them out run you, and the kicker sails out of bounds. Trent kicks back up the acceleration and dashes for a 91 yard kickoff return with 2 seconds left to give us a 42-35 lead. Illinois RB has almost 200 yards on the ground vs us, but thankfully Carlos Brown had 170 + of his own. Thankfully this daunting stretch of ND, Wisconsin and Illinois is over, and I can blow out Toledo before gearing up for OSU. W00t. |

Started off poorly and quickly went down 14-7 due to 2 stupid picks and a fumble. However, we recovered to end the half up 38-14. Called off the dogs in the 2nd half, but we still beat Oregon 52-21.
Sanchez recovered from 2 picks in his first 5 throws to end up 20 of 25 for 296 yards with 3 TD's 2 INT's. McKnight with 18 carries for 100 yards and 3 TD's. Vidal Hazelton finally showed a great burst and had 5 catches for 105 yards including a 65 yard TD on a bomb down the sideline. |

Quick question. Should people be required to post about restarts to their games. I saw that Michigan restarted twice. I don't think he reset the games but I think if you are required to restart, you should post that and the reason on the boards. I remember Kodos did that earlier in the season.

DetoxRox sent me a PM about the restart already. He had the DDE that I've also experienced personally on two occasions (both in online dynasty mode, oddly enough). Basically, I told him that I trust everyone in this league not to cheat. If I notice someone consistently has them, I will start to take note. But at this point, I have no reason to believe that anyone is restarting on purpose to get better results. If people want to document what's going on with restarts, by all means, feel free to. But it's really not required.

Unfortunately, EA Sports games seem rather prone to DDEs. I'd recommend anyone who is having repeated problems with them to check out this thread:

Ohio State wins 69-21 over #12 Wisconsin but we lose heisman hopeful Chris Wells for 9 weeks. Before he went down he had one of the best runs I've seen yet.

Its a good week to take over Georgia Tech and learn the team a little bit. We hosted Duke this week. I brought a ton of recruits in(the CPU had them all visiting in week 13 when we play Miami, I moved as many as possible to this week), and for someone who prefers the running game, the option is FUN. Well, its fun against a crappy team like Duke. I'm sure its going to suck against a fast team that can defend it.
QB Mike Colbert was 14-16 for 132 yards through the air with 1 TD and 1 INT HB Blake Mann ran 23 times for 58 yards QB Colbert 14 times for 68 yards and 2 TDs HB Sam Andrews ran 6 times for 86 yards and 2 TDs Georgia Tech wins easily, 37-10. Last edited by Radii : 08-30-2008 at 02:13 AM. |

Very hard-fought game against the Golden Gophers in Minnesota. The first half, neither offense could do much, and we went into the half tied 3-3. The third quarter saw more struggles on offense, as neither team scored.
Finally, in the fourth quarter, the offenses started to click. With 6 minutes left in the 4th, the first touchdown of the game came. Kellen Lewis bought time until senior WR Darius Logan could come open in the front corner to put us on top 10-3. Following the Gophers' next possession, they were able to pin us deep after we came out expecting them to go for it on fourth down. They didn't, and their punt rolled to a stop around our 4 yard line. Bad things can happen when you're backed up against your endzone, but Kellen Lewis rolled the dice anyway. Junior RB Bryan Payton was able to chip block their blitzing linebacker just enough to buy Kellen Lewis some time, and Lewis's lob into single coverage found its way into Logan's outstretched arms, and he rolled the rest of the way for a 96-yard TD reception that made it 17-3. Pumpy's Gophers refused to go away, as they marched down the field. With 3:15 remaining, they struck to pull within 17-10. Needing to run down the clock with a 17-10 lead and 3 minutes left in regulation, we decided to keep passing, as they pretty had much shut down our running game all day long. This play kept our drive alive on third and 9 with 2:10 remaining, and is the craziest play I think I've had. Nobody was coming open, so Lewis kept trying to buy time, until he finally decided to unload the ball to junior WR Ray Fisher. We kept moving the ball down the field from there, and eventually got the game-sealer on an option pitch to senior RB Marcus Thigpen from 10 yards out on third and 6 that made it 24-10 with 24 seconds remaining. Very hard-fought game against Pumpy. Don't be fooled by his record. Pumpy is a tough player. Good luck the rest of the way, Pumpy! Last edited by Kodos : 09-02-2008 at 12:42 AM. |

It was a heck of a game at the Metrodome. As you guys have probably seen from bignej's and Kodos' highlights against me, the Gophers just don't have a lot of talent in the secondary. The pass rush is decent, the linebackers are good at sniffing out the run, but the defensive backs just can't keep up sometimes. That's something I'm working on in recruiting.
Great game, Kodos!

Yep. Very intense game right to the end. Your d-line and linebackers really did a good job of stopping our running attack, and containing the option whenever we broke it out. We look forward to having you in Bloomington next season.

Got in late last night and played my game. We beat Arizona 24-22, on the road, to remain undefeated on the season. James Hasty busted off a 77 yarder on an option pitch and an 81 yarder on another regular run play. I was way too tired to save any videos and what not. Good win.
