A TCY Question!!!

Has anyone here thought of updating the TCY viewer program? I thought there were a few people working on an update (Cleval?). Fido had also stated that he would write a viewer program. It seemed to be a topic last year, but I have not heard anything since. I have gotten back into TCY lately and enjoy the viewer that matt jones made. It really adds to the game. I think an update would be nice and would almost be like a whole new game.

I offered to take over this project at one point in time, but the current owner was supposedly near release of the next version. I haven't heard anything on it in quite some time, but I do agree with you that an update would be great.

Yea, that was 6 months ago. I think if you wanted to do this, go ahead and start. You may talk to Matt Jones, but he seemed pretty open to anyone with the knowledge to modify the project. You may talk to Fido also as he was going to release a viewer. Again, that was 6 months ago so I am not sure. I sent him an e-mail, but have not heard back and have no other way of contacting him about this.

It was a program that was made by matt jones. Basically, it read through a log file of the game and gave a graphical representation of the game with team logos and an easier to read text. It really added to the game and I wish some of the programmers here would think about updating it.

Where do you get the viewer program?

You can go here to get the viewer. http://membres.lycos.fr/frontofficefoot/downloads.htm

Now my only question is, what exactly do you do with it and how do you put it in your program? Can someone explain that to me?

Well, the viewer is a stand-alone utility which is used apart from TCY (and there's a version for FOF as well). Once installed, you can have it running simultaneously with the game to view the game logs that have been saved.
