I'll probably eat a couple of potato chips and then grab something from Wendy's during the second quarter or so.

You won't believe this, but in San Francisco there is only one Wendy's. The worst part of the city is that the geography is so small that there is absolutely no drive thru's whatsoever. Every fast food closes at like 10PM. As for said topic, I have plenty of beer/JD/Vodka to last me, not to mention the amount of fabulous pizza delivery services in my area.

Hey, I'm having a little get together tonight. Not sure what to make. Does anyone have any recipes for something good, besides the usual wings, nachos, etc?

Yes, here's what I'm making for the Super Bowl party today.
3 packs of little smokies 3 packs of bacon Cut bacon into 3 pieces, wrap 1 piece around little smokie and secure with toothpick. Do this until you fill 2-3 glass baking dishes (the more the better as these go fast). Cover with a generous amount of brown sugar and bake in a 325 degree oven for about 40mins-1hr (until the bacon is your desired crispyness). Transfer to a crock pot to keep warm. You have to love meat wrapped up with meat. These things will go up in about 30 mins or less. Todd Last edited by MizzouRah : 02-06-2005 at 08:57 AM. |

No recipes or anything, but maybe some lunch meats and fresh rolls or something? I'm having a bitch of a time cause I gorged on pizza 2 weekends ago and didn't end up feeling very well so I pre planned either Turkey Burgers and tater tots or a nice little chicken dish, tasty stuff that wasn't full of grease and cheese and crap. How many people are gonna be there? Do you have an indoor grill per chance? You could cook alot of good stuff on that. |

I'm also predicting that McNabb will puke on the sidelines tonight in the 3rd/4th quarter (ala when he was at SU)

McNabb's gonna have trouble with the blitzing he'll see. He does well when one guy is there, but with a disciplined Pats D he's not gonna have all the time to run around he has in the past.

He's done that often this year. He's been successful a number of times by doing so, although you also get those sacks out of it. |

Instant replay is far from instant. I prefer the "no-do-overs" rule, even if calls are wrong some of the time.

More like not protecting the football after he evaded the first tackler and was face up with another one. Announcers really suck though. They were praising Reid's keen eye seeing that McNabbs knee was down. Which is more likely, Reid has a keen eye or McNabb simply told him that he'd been down? I'm sure he felt his knee hit the turf.

Not me. As long as football refs are as bad as they are we need the replay. Look at this play. There was a zebra right behind McNabb looking right at him and he missed the call.

I expect an apology from FOX tomorrow. Something like, "We realize it was a mistake to give Joe Buck a microphone. We apologize that we broadcast that disgusting display." |

If he doesnt call it a fumble, it cant be reviewed. I agree that the refs suck, but I wonder how often they make a call knowing "it can be reviewed to get the correct call." |

Well, I agree that replay should be used, but it's not always because the refs are bad. It was easy to tell that his knee was down going frame by frame, but it can be extremely difficult to tell during live action. There are some bad refs, but even good officials will need replay from time to time. |

So far (of what I've seen), the Diet Pepsi spot got a chuckle, the FedEx (Burt & the bear) spot got rapt attention & a "good spot" pronouncement. Everything else has a neutral to "you just wasted big bucks".
IMO, godaddy.com didn't get their money's worth out of that spot, too many quick cuts & not enough focus on the actual website name. Also, that appears to be an edited version of the original spot (unless they've got another version coming up later), which had a rear angle shot of the shirt completely off.

No doubt but if the level of officiating was across the board better I'd be able to live with the no do overs just like stevew. It doesn't have to be perfect. Life rarely is. Quote:
No doubt this happens quite a bit and it can be frustrating considering the built in limit on challenges.
