He has been hitting lights this past week, the future looks decent for this team for the first time in a while. Piazza, Matsui, Reyes, Wright is a pretty nice offensive infield. |

My buddy met Wright at a signing he held last week in Long Island. Said he couldn't have been any nicer. He stayed two hours longer than the appearance was supposed to last, even though he had a game that night.

The Mets are interested in adding another bat this offseason and if its an outfielder it opens a move to 1st for Floyd in order to get their best lineup on the field. So a Piazza, Matsui, Reyes, Wright, Floyd infield is even better.

which would put Piazza where? Back at catcher? the rest of the MLB has a man crush on Wright so I guess it's ok if you do the_herd It's still depressing watching the Mets but at least there's hope. |

Catching and getting some time at 1B. Piazza playing 1B is just a way to keep him in the lineup and not wear him down. He's much worse at 1B than he is catching. He's bad defensively as a catcher, but handles a pitching staff very well. At 1B he just flat out sucks.
