I am trying to figure out how the line for the Pats/Browns game doesn't favor the Pats by at least 20. Instead its only 11.5.

Cleveland has been in its last 3 games. Loss by 5, loss by 6 in OT, loss by 11 after leading going into the 4th quarter. They're not getting blown out. I would jump on 11.5, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's closer than that until late in the game.

I just feel like Brady coming back equals huge blowout. The Pats should be amped and Brady always comes back with a fire after something like this suspension bullshit hes had to deal with.

Gronk/Edelman/now Blount all banged up, plus Pats D has been hit or miss.

11.5 is still A LOT for a road NFL team.

Hope that somehow Drew Stanton can pull a victory out of a hat tonight with my beloved Cardinals, and they don't pick up any more injuries to their stars.

Thoughts upon coming home from work late and turning on the game with 2 minutes left.

(1) I can see how in some objective way those 49ers uniforms would be considered bad. But I love them.

(2) I don't think that it's bragging to say that I could handle end of half time management better than most NFL coaches.

Why does this SF/ARI game feel like I'm watching High school game?

Also, that pass interference in the endzone call was bogus

well only 120+ yards for Stanton, but thanks to some great defensive plays, Cards scored 33 points and got the win. Please be healthy though Carson for Monday night vs the J-E-T-S

The 49ers uniforms were ugly, but I still got 23.4 points out of Hyde which I didn't expect. So I'm happy.

I know right?

Last week we had dreamsicles and this week I felt like I was watching Sauron's Mordor State!

However they didn't sell enough chocolate bars door to door to be able to afford the matching helmets with the fiery eye upon it.

If Goodell does nothing else, he's still better than the cheat culture Pats.

The only justice for that p.o.s. Brady is a CEI. Cry all you want, he's the sports embodiment of sports contribution to the decline of society.

There's no less respectable organization in sports, no less respectable fan base.

Yeah, Tom Brady is the NFL player most deserving of scorn. Thanks for staying you Jon!

Deep ball looks fantastic today. Also, why is Jay Feely a sideline reporter?

He's done more to damage _the game_ than anyone else in uniform.

That's a separate category from ol' Cheaterchik, unless you count hoodies as a uniform.

Separate category from the backup QB in San Fran too, his sin is against the image of the league.

They're welcome to the same fiery pit, but they belong there for different reasons.

I remember when people use to laugh at the Dolphins as the team that would always go 12-4 or 11-5 and lose in the first round of the playoffs. Boy do I miss those days.

Cleveland scores to go down 30-13, goes for 2 & misses. "Why would you go for two there, now it's a 3 possession game instead of 2." Ugggggggggghhhhhhhhhh. If a team misses their 2-pt attempt you can't assume they would have made future attempts!!!

It's up there with them asking "How does a good RB like Isaiah Crowell fall through the cracks and go undrafted?" Umm, multiple felony gun charges, being kicked out of school, and presumably general demeanor if he's posting pictures of police officers getting their throats slit on instagram. That might have something to do with it.

This has been one of my biggest pet peeves for years. You have to go for two either way. It only makes sense to go for two earlier so you know how many possessions you'll need as soon as possible. The other argument makes absolutely no sense to me.

The Bengals run defense is ass. Their secondary is better, but they also aren't as good as they should be.

The real weakness for the Bengals is the Center position. His suckiness weakens the whole line and the whole offense.

Bengals let the play clock run all the way down to 3 and THEN they call a time out. Not that they have a chance of coming back, but jeez. I'd really like to get in the mind of coaches and analysts alike, because it seems a large majority of them have zero concept of how to deal with time management. I know we all know that, but gawd damn man, how can so many of them be so bad at it?

Disagree with this. It's a psychological thing. Say you don't get the 2 pt conversion and psychologically the game is over. You kick the XP, make it a 2 score game to keep yourself in the game.

I don't think I have been as excited about a Falcons team in a very long time. I felt like this was a make or break game. If they could move the ball on the best defense in the NFL, then they are legit. If not, then they are going to swoon like last year and it'll be a long ugly season. I really wasn't even considering a win, just a decent offensive showing. The fact that they did both is just gravy.

Don't get me wrong. This team doesn't have a defense to win a championship or anything. I will say they lose next week against the Seahawks almost certainly. Yet, they do look like a certain playoff team. That at least gives me something to root for. With that, and how young salmost all of the playmakers are on this team, excites me.

So you'd rather maintain the illusion of it being a "2-score" game when you'd need to score twice AND make 2 2-pt conversion attempts (at ~50% each) instead of learning as early as possible if you need 2 or 3 possessions and can alter playcalling accordingly? Whether to go hurry up, potential 4th down attempts or onside kicks etc. Count me out.

(And the other half is the announcers watching a 2-pt conversion fail, then assuming the first 2-pt attempt in their theoretical scenario would still have a 50% chance of success. I assume that team is trying the same 2-pt play they would have tried later.)

And could someone on the Pittsburgh staff have a little chat with Antonio Brown about focusing on football rather than footwear.

We get it already, you're the Imelda Marcos of the NFL ... now grow up & play the damned game instead of acting like a fuckin' idiot. ESPN is determined to cover that shit, so it's on you to stop it.

I know you arent a big fan of Peterson but let the rookie finish his first year before making these comparisons. Plenty of highly hyped rookie running backs have fallen apart early in their career such as Trent Richardson.

Its just as over as if you get to within 2 points and dont make it at the point. Might as well know sooner if you are going to need more possessions.

He had 9 catches for 88 yards. That's not a bad night. Not quite up to his usual excellent standards, but pretty good nonetheless.

Also, he's playing a kids game for a living. A kids game. It's okay to have fun doing so!

Elliot has as many 100 yard rushing games in 5 weeks as Trent had his entire rookie year. Trent averaged 3.5 ypc as a rookie, Elliot is currently at 5.0. He might slow down, but he's already well ahead of where Trent was.

Considering they have the consensus best player at the most important offensive line position, how fucking terrible are the other 4 on the Browns o-line to have killed three QB's so far this season (and the fourth had to go out of the game for a few plays)?
