MMMMM Chipotle

The best thing about moving back to Fairborn is Chipotle is minutes away.

Please describe in this thread in elaborate detail how you gets yours.

Chicken burrito, no beans, mild salsa, cheese.. perfection. Sometimes if I'm feeling a little crazy I will ask the final cheese adder guy to mix it all up, so each bite gets a little of everything. but at the same time I like going side to side and finding new stuff in each bite, like chicken to salsa/cheese to rice. I always get a coke to go along with it. It is by far the most valuable part of the meal. It's the only quick place to eat where I know I will need to refill before I am finished eating. So much food, so many drinks to get it all down. I am also messy and chicken and rice always falls out into the little red bowl.

Mmmmmm

So, I've always wondered--is it pronounced "chi-pot-lay", "chi-pol-tay", or something else? I've heard several variations...

Goddamnit this is like the 7th time I've heard about the joy of Chipotle in the past week. I've never even fucking seen one, yet alone tried one. Same goes for a Sonic. They run commercials all day around here for them, yet the closest one is hours away. Soooooooooo lame.

It is more like "chi-pote-lay". At least that is how my wife says it when she brings out her accent.

I tend to say "Cheh-pote-lay."
I get a vegetarian burrito:
black beans
rice
lettuce
mild tomato salsa
medium corn salsa
cheese
guacamole

Of course, if you're in central Maryland, I urge you to go to Frisco Burrito instead of Chipotle. A local business (one in Towson, one in Columbia) and some DAMN fine food. When I go there I get a spinach burrito.

(No, I'm not a vegetarian all the time, but I only eat meat a few days a week, I like eating vegetarian).

I hear you. When I got back to the States I ate Chipotle four times in five days. There was one a few blocks from the temp housing I was staying at. So. very. good.

I just had it yesterday, I am still at home in Milford, it's about a 15 minute drive to the nearest one. But this thread is tempting me to go by myself to get one right now.

FWIW, I think Baja Fresh is much better, but they aren't in as many places as Chipotle.

My favorite Mexican places= Las Palmas in Santa Cruz (there's one in San Jose on the Alameda, but I've never been), El Burro @the Pruneyard, La Victoria (by SJSU downtown), Aqui's in Willow Glen (more new age cal-mex than mexican), Super Taqueria (9th street, I believe)

Honorable mention: Taqueria Unamas (hit and miss)

I go with either a chicken or barbacoa typically, but I'll rotate all 4 of the main buritos (no, veggie doesn't count). Rice (of course), black beans, sour cream, lettuce, and just a little of the hot sauce. I prefer the taste of the hot to the mild and medium, but I'm not one to burn my taste buds off so I tell them to go light on it.

So are Boston Market and Einstein Bagels. So? Does everyone in America think McDonald's is the great evil now because, well, it took Spurlock to tell idiots that eating fast food 24/7 is bad for you? I still don't understand the reaction to that movie since it was something other than a resounding "duh".

Hell, a Chipotle burito contains over 1000 calories and a ton of fat.

Steak Burrito, black beans, lettuce, tomato, mild salsa, cheese, guacamole. Absolute heaven. I really need to eat in tonight, but i think this thread has sealed it, I will be eating there once over this holiday weekend coming up. If I can make it til tomorrow night eating the food in the house instead of getting a burrito now it'll be a miracle.

You guys (who posted their burrito orders) are wussies .

Barbicoa (spiced shredded beef)
Black beans
Rice
Pico de Gallo (mild salsa)
HOT salsa (two thwacks usually)
Sour Cream
Cheese

The hot salsa and barbicoa make it worth it. Otherwise, I'd just go to Willy's .

chipotle is by far my most favoritest food on earth. i love it for it's 1000+ calorie minimum order, its portability (once you obtain mad burrito eating skills), the simple menu, and the simple script when ordering.

"chicken buritto, black beans"
"sauce?"
"mild."
"cheese?"
"yes."
"lettuce?"
"yes."
"sour cream?"
"yes."
"and a drink?"
"large."
"thank you come again"

Until I see someone order a sesos taco, all are wussified.

On the Mickey D's note, they also have (not sure if it is a chain) a brewery/steakhouse that I went to in Lisbon, Portugal. It blew me away to find out it was owned by Ronald and the gang.

Chipotle is decent, but I prefer a couple of places out in Seattle - Taco Del Mar (a pretty big chain in the area) and Casa D's (a small, 3-store chain in the area).

I get the chicken with cheese, lettuce, pico de gallo, hot salsa, guacamole.

FOR THE RECORD, I don't have a problem with hot food and hot salsa in general. I love spicy stuff. I just think Chipotle's hot sauce is awful.

Dola - at some point in the last 10 years fat burritos have replaced pizza as the food that, if I had to eat the same thing for an entire week at lunchtime, this would be it.

I do Chipotle once a week (I work downtown and there's one a block from me). I normally get:

Barbacoa in a bowl
Rice
Black Beans
Salsa (which one depends what kind of mood I'm in)
Sour Cream
Cheese

Definitely a full lunch.

The last two times, though, I had the soft and crunchy tacos with shredded pork. They were pretty good but not enough value for the money, imo.

I'm jealous . I love it when a Mexican/Spanish food place has some habenero hot sauce on the table. Yum!

The Seattle area has some great burrito/Mexican places. I've found a good local place near work that's authentic, but their burritos are much greasier than I'm used to. If I had a car out here I might be able to explore more and find a good alternative, but I'm stuck with the CTA and walking.

I'm looking forward to going back home - where I work, there are probably 20 or so food options within reasonable walking distance, as opposed to here where there's one place across the street, another about 5 blocks away and anything else about a 15-minute walk each way.

I seriously want to kill every employee in the store when I walk into Moe's. The Moe's near my office is seriously skimping on the meat in their orders the past couple of times I've gone with a coworker for lunch. I'm done with Moe's, its Chipotle or nothing for me.

That chipotle Corn Salsa they put on the burritos could be a side dish in and of itself. Delicious.

Grilled Chicken
Rice
Lots of Corn Salsa
A little hot salsa
lots of sour cream
lots of cheese

= Heaven....And then i usually eat any scraps my girlfriend has from her barbacoa burrito...

You really gotta go up to San Francisco and hit up El Burrito Express. Best burritos I've ever had, bar none.

I noticed a lot of ppl here enjoy black beans, I grew up on pinto beans and never had black beans... but my fave:

Rice
Pinto Beans
Carnitas or Grilled Chicken
Spicy Green Salsa
Lots of lettuce and cheese

Assuming your location is right you must be out in the suburbs or something... Chicago is full of good places to eat (usually hole-in-the-wall type joints though).

Midway is located off of California between Belmont and Addison. If I had a car food wouldn't be much of an issue as there is a lot of stuff along both Addison and Belmont, but those spots are a loooong walk from where I am. Hot Doug's is right across the street, but beyond that it's at least 5 blocks to the next few places and much further to a bigger selection.
