Grrr...ESPN Cuyp Playoff coverage...

Why, why, why?

Why, when the Ducks are in Detroit, it's the Stanley Cup playoffs involving the Stanley Cup champs against a local team, and we're in the #2 market in the country, are they showing friggin' Washington-Tampa Bay?

My understanding is that everyone else is watching Ducks-Wings (other than DC and Florida, probably). But here I am, mere miles from Anaheim, and ESPN is showing another series entirely that isn't even in our conference? It's not like showing the game here would hurt attendance (even if that were an issue for the playoffs...), because the damn game is over 2,000 miles away.

I have looked all over my cable system and the local outlets and the Ducks' regional coverage broadcasts, and there's nothing except this ESPN game apparently being shown to everyone EXCEPT Ducks fans!

Very pissed. The third period they show better be Wings-Ducks and not back to Caps-Lightning.

Chief,

I see that the game is on Fox Sports West2 based on my DirecTV guide.

LMAO!

Okay, so I went FSW2, and it was on a commercial. The digital readout said it was Totally frickin' NASCAR!

So then I read henry's response, go back to FSW2, and there it is! The commercial was a break in the Ducks-Wings game, not for some stupid show on FSW2 (although it still lists this regular show and not the game on my digital readout). That's just stupid.

Anyway, thank you, thank you, thank you, henry! You're on my favorite persons list now.

Go Ducks. Playing the Wings tough!

Chief,

You guys are goin down

Seriously though, I think the Ducks have the ability to give the Wings all they can handle. That being said, I am still confident the Wings will win, probably in six.

I think the Wings will take the series, too. They have been too solid against us in the past. You know, they are just one of those teams that gives the Ducks problems, above and beyond, of course, Detroit's immense talent.

I won't give any promises for tonight, though.

I'm still saying the Ducks are the best of the "underdog" teams, east or west.

IIRC, only 2 less points than Detroit over the 2nd half of the season.

My wife is watching - says it's been a great game so far.

My rabbit ears are picking up 2 games

This Wing/duck series seems like it could be interesting. The Ducks don't look like they are gonna fold easily.

What an OT! I'm afraid Detroit is going to lose after having 20 shots and no goals in the 1st OT. That's always the way.

Hmm..the longer this game goes the better the series will be for the Ducks....they know they can play with the Wings now.

wow - what a nice time to chose to go home on lunch and watch some hockey. 3 quick goals by the Wild before I can say "Forsberg". ugh.

no worries, though.

OH YEAH, BABY! Kariya scores! Take that, doubters!

And realize that I say this knowing quite well a game does not make a series, that the Wings came back to beat the Canucks last year after falling down 2-0 at home, and that the Wings are still quite likely to win this series, and even in less than 7 games.

Still, I gotta give my boys props.

Great game, Wings.

Cloutier gives up 2 in the first 2:01.

can't taunt too much with the Wild winning, but that does make me smile.

WOO! Go Ducks! Since the Hawks didn't make the playoffs, my favorite team is now "Whoever is playing the Wings"

I told ya!

The Ducks might get a boost out of this, but they were so thoroughly dominated for 95% of OT that I don't think Detroit's confidence is waning.

You wouldn't be hoping to see potential future opponents getting softened up, would you?!

Unless the Stars step it up tonight, whomever advances to the second round will have nothing to worry about from the Stars.

I love the pessissism, it makes me chuckle!

If they lose, are you tearing up the D&D cards?!

It's not pessimism as much as it's is pure fear. I really got the impression that the Stars did not want to win the cup. If that's true, then they may as well pack it in.

I guess you guys are feeling pretty good with that victory last night. Nice number they pulled on Roy!

Oh, and there aren't cards in D&D. Just paper. And dice.
