24, Season 5 Discussion
Alright folks, I know we have some 24 fans out there and with the season premiere only two days away, I am absolutely PUMPED!
So maybe I am a little obsessed, either way. I can't wait until Sunday night!

I hear Kim is back. Is this true? Can people confirm this? A horrible development if so. Still, I am very much looking forward to the new season.
Jack Bauer is da bomb. As in.... I don't have time for this.... WHERE'S THE BOMB!?!?!

ANybody been watching the old episodes on A&E. They have been on sporatically. It would be nice if they could be on at a consistent day and time so I could DVR them. I have seen every episode except for a few in season two, and would like to catch the ones I missed.
Ah... Just saw a 24 commerical, can't wait

Radii and I love this show, but I know he dreads watching it because every episode ends with me going "Damn, I hate this show!" and then going "I can't wait for next week!"
Nip/Tuck has the same effect on me. |

Man, I can't wait. This and Early are my only "must see" shows.
Each season I start bitching about things slowing down or running out of ideas, then they throw something in there that draws me right back in. |

The first two eps just finished airing here.

Indeed. Some nice quotes in these eps. "The only reason you're still conscious is because I don't want to carry you." "Relax, he's really good at this" "If you don't tell me what I want to know, then it'll just be a question of how much you want it to hurt." The first 10 minutes bummed me out. I liked those characters. Keith and Nicole Palmer have had the most f'd up life. Chloe having sex. Can't wait to see Samwise/Rudy/Mikey tomorrow. |

Such a great show, seriously the best on TV
Logan really does suck, wonder if we will ever find out what happened to Keeler (not like he was all that much better, but at least he fucking gave two shits) Hooray that it is back on!

************SPOILERS**************
I thought it was good but also a little predictable. I was pretty sure that Logan's aide would turn out to be a bad guy about 10 seconds after he was introduced. I think the scenario with the kid running into the airport at the end, or at least a variation on it, could be seen coming for quite a while as well. I still think it will be a good season but I'm worried about it becoming a little too predictable. |

Any chance that the hobbit ends up being a bad guy later in the show? That he was sent there to make sure that the initial attack failed in some way that would further the primary "bad guy goal"?
There are usually a couple of layers of villains over the 24 hours. I'm far from convinced the dude with the headset is the primary one. |

Chuck Norris watched 24 once. His only comment was "24 hours. It would have only taken me 1. Puss. "

I appear to be in the minority here, but I have been a bit disappointed in the season thus far. It could be that 4 hours was just too much (I TiVo'd the show and watched them all last night), but it just seemed like the writers were sort of re-hashing a lot of the same old stuff and it's starting to get a little stale.
The assassination of Palmer was wild, as was the car bombo that killed Michelle and critically injured Tony. It was fun to see Chloe having "got some" too. Much of the first four episodes just seemed like they were taken directly from the prior three seasons. The show always has relied on quite a bit of silliness to complicate situations, either to increase the tension of the moment or stretch a situation enough to fill the time alotted. The things that annoyed me, include: 1) That kid deciding to tail Jack and then Jack having to bring the kid with im in the helicopter, to the airport, and the kid's eventual forray into the airport. I rolled my eyes something firece ( ) when Jack found the kid in the boxes. He almost became a "He-Kim", just sort of thrown in there to complicate things. Been there. Done that. 2) The president's crazy wife. While I am not surprised that this douche bag would marry a crazy woman or that a woman married to his douche bag would go crazy, I was a bit annoyed that we have yet one more mentally unstable character thrown into the mix. Last year it was that woman's crazy daughter. In the first season we had Jack's wife's one hour and fifteen minute case of amensia. It will be interesting to see the variations of crazy the First Lady will run through in the next 24 hours. 3) Yet another scenario where CTU is reluctantly forced to trust Jack. CTU is almost always reluctantly relying on Jack. He's wanted/not supposed to be there/disobeying orders all the time, but in the end, he's the only guy who can handle the situation and they grudgingly agree to let him take charge. 4) Apparently there is, yet, another mole in CTU. Could be Samwise. Could Chloe's boyfriend. It's unclear, but they mentioned it in the previews. Seriously. How does this keep happening? All that said, Jack Bauer is still a bad ass. The parts of the show focusing on Jack being a bad ass are still quite enjoyable. Chloe cracks me up, as does Edgar Styles. I will keep watching, but I just wished the writers had show just a little more originality than they have thus far.

1) Couldn't agree with you more. I thought when they got away from the building where Palmer was shot, why the hell would Jack still take him along? Why didn't the just say, "Go to CTU and meet your mom and tell them what I am doing".
2) I agree about the crazy people too, but I guess its part of the formula. 3) Hhahahaha. And why does all of this keep happening in L.A. You would figure the terrorists by now have seen a pattern and maybe try New York or some other area where Jack isn't. I mean CTU is a regional office supposedly. I remember seeing something about CTU in another place in a prior season. DO they just sit on their ass waiting? 4) Apparently the HR department sucks at CTU. They would probably give Victor Drazen a job there if he was alive and applied.

I don't understand how Mike (the bald guy), who I think is head of Secret Service can stand working with such a d-bag of a president. He was such a Palmer guy I am surprised he is still around.

Mike Novick is the one with the glasses, always with the President (he was Palmer's Chief of Staff and is one of Logan's aides now) Aaron is the bulkier guy, bald, who was looking for Mrs. Logan yesterday, yeah.
