Hi guys, its me, your female member laura!

Just want to announce that my brother got selected once again for the New Zealand Gridiron team. He will be playing a test match against Australia (boo we don't like the Aussies) in Auckland on July 19!!!

Isn't he clever!

Yes, I have full cheeks (all four!) but earn a decent living. It would be more correct to say 'cheeky bourgeois'.

Senator,

Me too. Dated a Russian girl once. Couldn't get enough of the accent. Anything but a Boston accent and I'm there.

Ack! I hate the Boston accent. When I lived in Connecticut, my girlfriend would go home speaking like a normal person, and then return with a stupid Boston accent. Quite annoying!

You know who had the best accent ever? Ingrid Bergman. Watch Casablanca and fall in love with her...

Thanks LJ & SirFozzie.

Still a lot of work to do. I have a week off from the gym this week before the final 9 week or so cycle. We have been training 6 days a week since March.

We just completed the second three day national selection training camp on Sunday. They announced the playing squad at the end of the camp which was bittersweet as there were heaps of new friends from around the country that wont be there in July...

We have a final four day camp June 12 - 15 at Waiouru Army base. Not sure anyone has thought this through as the base is on a mountain plateau and will therefore be freezing in the middle of winter! We had an army PTI (physical training instructor) with us at the last camp for our fitness work so there was a little bit of running around to say the least!

Catch you later.

Fritz -

Last time we played a test against them (July 2001) we took 30 players and a coach to find that they had 63 dressed players, 11 coaches, a medical/physio team etc.

This time they have selected 50 players for the NZ team, but I expect a few more guys to be named, specifically those that played the Quad City Steamwheelers AF2 team a month or so ago in a warm-up match for the 'wheelers.

All things going well, I will be the 2nd or 3rd waterboy on the team depthchart...

By the way, New Zealand has a habit of naming all of its national sporting teams in the manner of professional sporting teams. This seems to be more prevalent here than anywhere else that i can think of.

Mens Rugby - All Blacks
Womens Rugby - Black Ferns
Mens Rugby League - Kiwis
Mens Soccer - All Whites
Womens Field Hockey - Black Stix
Womens Netball - Silver Ferns

Mens (World Champion) Softball Team - Black Sox
Mens Basketball Team - Tall Blacks
Womens Basketball Team - Tall Ferns
Mens Wheelchair Rugby Team - Wheel Blacks
Mens Cricket Team - Black Caps

Newly Renamed Mens American Football team (drumroll please................)

Ironblacks

its growing on me.

Triple F -

The Haka.

It was based on an idea to have a College Football game in Auckland as an exhibition of the sport in the mid-90s. The idea was promoted by Riki Ellison (member of superbowl winning 49ers and a New Zealander!) as the Haka Bowl. The idea never came off, but the name stuck and was attributed to the national side.

The name Haka is a Maori word for a war-dance. The "Ka-mate Ka-Mate" haka is performed by most New Zealand sports teams before an encounter. If you caught any of the Basketball World Champs last year the Tall Blacks performed it there on the court before the start of each game.

This year the team name "Haka" was given to the NZ under-21 team that will play the Australian under-21 as the curtain raiser to the test on July 21. The Australian national team is the "Outback".

When I was in the States, noone could pick my accent. Most people asked me if I was english. I was also very dissapointed that the American's didn't know how to make a "fluffy duck", never mind the yard glasses of margarita's made up for it.

In 2001 I flew San Fran drove to San Dieago, drove to LA, then drove to Lake Tahoe, then to Vegas, then flew to NY and went home.

I have no recollection of the vegas to NY flight - something to do with too many drinks during a tom jones concert at the MGM. Literally woke up in NY - very worried as to whether I had packed my bags.

I am learning much about my brother's football team via this board. Didn't know half that stuff kiwi. How's Wellington going? For what its worth, my assignment is really good!! Off to Mum and Dads on Friday, where are you watching the super 12 final?

I'd like visual confirmation of that trip to Las Vegas. Preferably the drunk/naked part. You can leave out the pictures of Tom Jones though.

dola,

i think i can say what we are all thinking:

Hey Kiwi I really like your sister,
I'd like to eat her like ice cream
maybe dip her in chocolate
Hey Kiwi's sister on your way over
in your Volvo, skirt with ties
Well, be crawling in your bed soon
messing around, maybe getting high
It's not what ya did,
It's not what ya didn't
God gave her a perfect body
and now I'm all up in it.
It's not she's a tramp.
It's not she's not pure.
She just likes getting her fuck on,
and its good for that I'm sure
Hey Kiwi I really like your sister.
When I'm horny like thirsty
She's a bottle of water.
Hey Kiwi how'd it get so bad
You raised her so well
and now she's calling me dad
in the back seat naked of a new Volkswagen
the perfect little gift for high school graduation.
It's not what ya did,
It's not what ya didn't
God gave her a perfect body
and now I'm all up in it.
It's not she's a tramp.
It's not she's not pure.
She just likes getting her fuck on,
and its good for that I'm sure
Nana na nana na,
Nana na nana na,
Nana na nana na,
ha hahaha ha ha haha
I eat all the food in your fridge
Call my friends around the world
Rack up your long distance do
Breakstands neutral drops
Wreck all your cars
Drink all the booze in your cheezy ass wet bar
Order stuff on your credit cards
Leave boogers in the skippy jar
Smoke your cigars
Answer the phone tell your boss you moved to mars
When you call in late from work tell your wife
You're at the titty bars
It's not what ya did,
It's not what ya didn't
God gave her a perfect body
and now I'm all up in it.
It's not she's a tramp.
It's not she's not pure.
She just likes getting her fuck on,
and its good for that I'm sure
I can't lie I have to tell the truth
My commandments says I'm a total spoof
Your sister's a freak
Your sister's a pro
When i'm done with her
She'll do one of your FOFC bros

I get back from Wellington 5pm on Friday. Vanessa has kindly offered to pick me up from the airport. Not sure where I'm watching the game. Tickets went on sale a couple of hours ago, but they'll all be gone now so I guess an establishment with Sky TV and plenty of Speights... Are you home for the whole weekend? Whats the reason for the visit? (I suspect to clear out the freezer... )

man I'm that good:

Super 12 final tickets sell out in minutes

20.05.2003 12.00pm

Close to 30,000 tickets sold out in a matter of minutes today for the Super 12 rugby final between the Blues and Crusaders in Auckland on Saturday.

About 28,500 tickets went on sale for the public at 9am and sold out by 10.40am.

"We expected tickets to the final to sell very quickly when they went on sale this morning, but this has been absolutely incredible," Blues chief executive David White said.

The venue for the final, Eden Park, has a capacity of 45,000, and the balance of 16,500 tickets had already been allocated to season ticketholders, sponsors and other parties.

The interest in the match has been put down to the fact that it is an all-New Zealand final and a contrast of two styles - the free flowing Blues game against the disciplined approach of the Crusaders.

should be a cracker...

i see you are working real hard in wellington, what has this to do with white stodgey bread? By the way, told mark of my master plan to turn your job into a feeding freezy, consequently he still thinks im nuts, but suggested Nutella for afternoon tea time. Will be at the ranch still sunday lunch i guess. That is at least 3 meals. Should be sufficient to please all.

If vanessa gets sick of her current occupation, she'd make a great taxi driver! Gotta go, creative communication awaits. Raining here. STINK.

hey pal,

avoiding work. have to go interview a couple of people this afternoon (plant manager, inventory controller etc etc) and steal some bread.

your presence for three meals at the ranch should satisfy them, at least for another week or so..

vanessa drove me to the airport at 5.30am monday morning too...

I hand in my assignment today and I am sooo pleased its over. Now I feel like I have nothing more to do, notwithstanding two more weeks of lectures and 3 more assignments. Oh, and then exams. Nevermind.

You should see all the kiddies running around this morning having heartattacks. I am so glad I had a premature nervous breakdown and got organised. Now I can sit back like a smug cat and think, huh, kids, when will they learn!

No way, I turn into a nervous wreck and get all stressed. Kiwi will vouch for that. Thankfully I am pretty well organised so by the time I have had my breakdown and completed said task, I still have plenty of time up my sleeve. I put very high expectations on myself which probably doesn't help.

Im not an adrenalin junkie at all, I hate stomach churning experiences. Together with putting the rubbish out, getting petrol (lights on again!) and rodents. I also hate buying lightbulbs and all other practicle items. And when my car registration is due I am going to be in such a foul mood.
