If it's not Mel Copeland, it's crap.
Mel's dominance (achieved under public scrunity and reasonable house rule restrictions) makes all comparisons across games less fun for me. It's like trying to argue about the best receivers in NFL history. The only real debate starts at #2. |

dola--and I think MIJB's may be John Dixon, though I could be wrong (I suppose we could ask him).

DK asked me about the LB, I said the name was John Dixon, but I'd rather not be asociated with him, he was a product of the system and more famous due to the unretiring trick. Legend, yes, my favorite player, hell no!

Actually, Mel Copeland is a QB from one of Quik's dynasties. I said WR only to indicate that this guy had Jerry Rice type dominance.
I forgot about that RB from Cthomer. That guy was a freak of nature. I'll try to remember to post my best player tonight, though he was not anywhere close to either of these two guys. http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/~fof/for...6&page=1&pp=50 |

absolutely. He was never was injured in any way, and the CPU seemed to know how to use him. I only tinkered with the depth chart or game plan in his final season... I have no idea why the computer ran like crazy with him, because I also had a HOF QB. I've kept playing forward in that universe, and no one is even close to touching his stats. |

I don't know who Quik would put up here. I was just commenting on, out of all of the legends that I have seen, he is the most . . . legend of them all. He's from Quik's carrer, though. Not mine.
Sorry to confuse things. |

Actually, DK, if legend incorporates some aspect of who on our team we really like--I'd like mine to be J. Boggs from the NorthStars. He puts up numbers well beyond his red bars (which I, personally, love), and has managed to get an all pro nod from two separate positions. I wish that I had had him from the beginning of his career--I would have put up some freakzilla numbers with the guy.

Mine was a RB from Ohio State, Robert McGhee that I had on my expansion Houston dynasty. Guy won three league MVPs, had well over 100 career TD's. Just pumped out 1,500 yards and 12-15 TD's every year for 12 years.

albionmoonlight already pumped him up, but the guy who amazed me the most in my many FOF careers was Mel Copeland. I picked him in my Magic Beans Dynasty, where every player had to come from my own rookie draft and FA class (I never signed a free agent or any player from any other source). Copeland arrived right as the team was starting to come together, and led them on quite a ride.

Nope. QBHarvey Tornberg actually passed Hatch 2 sims ago for my all-time QB records. Too bad Tornberg couldn't stay healthy. After missing just 4 games in his first 9 season, he played just: 13, 8, 11, 9, 2, 3. Hatcher on the other hand never missed a game in the same number of seasons, so Tornberg really beats him compared to all the games he missed but still better numbers. I know this makes no sense to anyone else, but, who cares. |

FOF wise, I don't really have a candidate, but if we open it up to TCY, then I'd be nominating ILB Oscar Payne.
And I know Blade would submit FS Geoff Ramsey. Now I just gotta find the url for the board we posted those dynasties on, wow was that a long time ago. |

In FOF2001, I took the expansion team and selected QB Gus "Low Risk" Fisk with the first pick in the draft. He played 12 years for my Raleigh Poison Leafs and never missed the playoffs, winning 4 or 5 championships.

Wow. You guys have some serious legends in your careers. Mine hasn't been quite as outlandish, and it was a bit hard to pick someone who stood out. Still, this guy stood out in my mind as an ironman of sorts, and pretty consistent for the most part.

I haven't a clue how he ended up setting career highs in his final season. I thought of this guy as being one heck of an "all around back" of sorts. Wish he stayed in the league a good while longer - I'd have loved to get him on my team. EDIT: He leads my universe in most Rushing Yards and most Rushing TDs. He was about 7 games short of establishing most games played by a RB, but does seem to hold the record for most games started by an RB.

This was a few years ago and on my old computer, so I don't have the stats anymore. But it was with one of my first careers, on FOF2 with the Green Bay Packers. My QB Mo Rosenthal had over 64,000 yards, 483 TDs (if I recall correctly), and won 3 rings for us. He also played in 12 straight seasons without missing a regular season game. Wish I still had his stats.

For me it's Eugene Moss, even though he probably still has 1 or 2 more years left in his career. Classic over achiever, going from 6th round draft pick with a 2nd year #1 pick ahead of him to beating him out as a rookie after training camp, and then throwing for 49,271 yards and 319 TDs, completing 62% of his passes. He did all this where the main goal of my dynasty was to feed the ball to RB Drew Jonassen, who ran for a league record of 15,813 yards and 112 TDs in 11 seasons.

I have 2 players, although neither have retired yet. I have been turned off on keeping playing b/c of my team's cap hell. Every offseason we have to cut several players just to field a complete team(b/c of these 2 players.) Although neiter have monster stats by yur standards they are my 2 favorite.
QB Alfred Kirchgessner I drafted him in the 1st round at pick 4. I already had a young QB I was grooming into the roll of superstar coming off an all pro 2nd team year, lol, Patrick Ramsey. However I couldn't pass on this guy. He had max potential in just about everything, was 95% developed, and ran a 4.22 40!!!! He played at Duke. Currently he is 36 years old. 2004- Offensive Rookie of the Year 2006- 1st Team QB 2006- League MVP 2007- 1st Team QB 2007- Offensive Player of the Year 2007- League MVP 2007- Front Office Bowl MVP 2008- 1st Team QB 2008- Offensive Player of the Year 2008- League MVP 2010- Front Office Bowl MVP 2011- 2nd Team QB 2012- 2nd Team QB 2013- 1st Team QB 2013- Offensive Player of the Year 2013- Front Office Bowl MVP 2014- 1st Team QB 2014- Offensive Player of the Year 2014- League MVP 2016- Front Office Bowl MVP He should have been MVP in 2013 but they gave it to J.B. Thomason for the 2nd year in row as a gift I guess. He had a very un-MVP like season. My favorite player ever is WR Randall McCubbrey who I actually argued over with a friend. He plays FOF too and when it came draft time we argued over which WR to take. It was a very deep year for WR's with 7 going in round 1 and another 5 in round 2. I sat at 32nd pick and watched all my WR's go off the board except 2. Randall McCubbrey and Donnie Satterlee. My friend argued Satterlee b/c of his size and speed, however I had a feeling about McCubbrey and took him. He has posted 8 straight 1000 yard seasons and in 8 years has an amazing 133 recieving TD's despite only playing in 12 games 2 years. He has posted 2 30+ TD recieving years and that in itself is out of this world. This guy would be a fantasy machine. If I ever get it going again it will be interesting to see exactly how many TD's he can rack up before he retires. He is only 30, but is already showing signs of slowing down with only 11 td's the last season. He has been surround with top level WR's his whole career. He played next to Taylor Jacobs his first 3 years. Taylor had 2 1,800 yard seasons in that time but never more than 5 touchdowns. Since then he has been next to a WR I took in round one who, with the exception of last year(his contract year) he has never played in more than 6 games. He was not retained and there are no other good WR's on my roster this year. If I ever do play this again he is primed for some big seasons. I'm not sure the exact reasons for all the touch downs b/c his ratings are good, but not great. He's not in the top 15 WR's in the league in talent level, however his big play receiving is 100. I dont have his #'s cuz it was from an old game, but for me it was:
ILB Albert Ruddy.....5th rd. draft choice and future HOF. He was unbelievable.

Many moons ago I had a save going with North Carolina in TCY, I recruited a guy named Jon Mauer from Michigan that no one else was recruiting. He passed for over 3000 yards his senior season in high school and was 6'5" 210 lbs. He started 4 years and broke every school passing record, every ACC passing record and almost every NCAA passing record. Kid was unreal.
