I'm proposing to my girlfriend tonight. Would normally have waited until afterwards to give you guys the good news, but I'm sitting here at work unable to focus my mind on anything else and figured I could use the distraction. I'm pretty positive she'll be surprised as it's something we've talked about, but she thinks it's more likely to be happening in a few months.

To anyone responding, just a heads up that if she says no, I'm deleting this shit and you will -- YOU WILL -- lose posts.

We're Jewish and decided on a couple small gifts for each other this year. This meets the definition of small haha. Doing it today is more a combination of good timing than anything holiday related.

Just doing it in our apartment of all places. I'm a low key guy and just want us to be alone when I propose, and if I had any extravagant set up to it, she'd see it coming. Her sister got engaged that way...her husband did the whole romantic day (which he never does of course) followed by dinner, where he did it, and she knew it was coming the whole time. After we make our calls I'm taking her to dinner at a small Italian place by my old apt where we had our first date, and after that we'll meet some friends for drinks. Tomorrow I have a limo taking us back to her parents' house, where her whole family and some of mine will be. Nothing too flashy but I know she'll love it.
