War Hits Close To Home

A kid who is a graduate of one of the high schools where I do Young Life was a member of the 507th Maintenance Company that was ambushed. He didn't make it.

I didn't know Jamaal personally, but I know several former club kids from LHS who did know him. Remember to pray for his wife and children, as well as the loved ones of all of our fallen.

He has my prayers.

I don't mean to pry, but is that a picture of his son? If so, what a handsome little guy. He also gets my prayers. When he's old enough to understand, I hope he grasps what a hero his father was. I also pray he and all children never again see this type of violence.

Yes, that it is his son. That was the front-page photo of this morning's Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
