The Ladder planning thread
The following teams have been built in Teambuilder and are ready to test out. Let me know if I got details wrong. I wasn't allowed to use KU to abbreviate Kansas, so some teams will have some inaccuracies that we can't get around, unfortunately.
USC Duke Indiana USF Rice Buffalo Clemson Wake Forest Kansas Wyoming A&M (found under omnivore93 gamertag) Link to original thread: NCAA 2012 OD signup thread - The Ladder (Xbox 360) - Front Office Football Central Last edited by Kodos : 09-16-2011 at 09:11 PM. |

Owner list as of 9/28. (Reflects spleen dropping out/chesapeake taking Duke instead of Weak Forest.)

These are the sliders that Dark Cloud suggested below in the thread.
All-American Time: 8 min. Game Speed: Slow Speed Threshold: 25 Offense (HUM/CPU) QB Acc. 15/25 Pass Block 50/50 WR Catch 45/45 RB Ability 45/85 Run Block 20/50 Defense Pass Coverage 40/50 Pass Rush 25/15 INT 20/35 Rush Defense 10/55 Tackling 15/15 Special Teams FG Power 45 FG Acc. 30/35 Punt Power 50 Punt Acc. 40 Kickoff Power 50 Basically, SECElite's last edit but I've bumped passing up and CPU INT down. I'll try a game using yours and see how it goes, EF27. __________________ Last edited by Kodos : 10-02-2011 at 11:40 PM. |

Do we just want to plunk everyone into one conference to start, and just move a little slower for our first season to let people play eachother? With a 10-team division, we'd go round-robin, so there'd be 9 conference games and 3 out-of-conference games.

Unless we are starting on tier 2, 10 of us won't fit in 1 conference.

Yeah, I would steal a slot from the independents. I didn't think we'd have this many guys signing up when I created the diagram. |

I think I would prefer splitting us up. Either 5 & 5 or 2 3 3 2.

I'm down for being split up, but scheduling each other would obviously be fun for bragging rights...

Given the ladder structure and the frequent shifting in conferences, if we don't start out in the same conference, some of you may never get the chance for your free win against me.

Any thoughts on going with this roster? Sounds like it potentially fixes some gameplay issues like super linebackers, psychic DBs, etc.

I'm going to try to come up with a new league structure today with two 10-team conferences that will be the initial home for our teams.

Here is the new league setup I came up with. The static conference ratings made things a bit painful, but I think this setup can work.

Here are the league alignments. I replaced two independent teams with Towson and Wake Forest teambuildered teams that conform to our setup, just in case we ended up with a couple of people wanting to come on board in the future.

Nobody had any comments about the roster we use. Should we use a close-to-default roster like the one by Fairdale Kings, or the one above that reportedly improves gameplay? Also, if anyone has good AA sliders, please post them. Last edited by Kodos : 10-01-2011 at 08:22 AM. |

Seems these are working for the FOFC guys in the forums: Front Office Football Central - View Single Post - NCAA Football '12 impressions thread
And whatever rosters you find on OS that seem to be okay are fine with me, it's not a big deal really.

I used GotMadSkillzson's roster, and the sliders Dark Cloud linked to in the post above. Any suggestions for penalty sliders? I've boosted offensive and defensive pass interference to 100.

Does anyone have thoughts on allowing / disallowing user catches?. We ended up banning them last year in our OD. Didn't know if we wanted to do that again this year.

FWIW, I have sufficiently little recent NCAA experience that I'm trusting those of you who do to set this up, that's why I'm not commenting. I'll be online soon.

Just noticing that I am Duke and not Weak Forest. That's a relief!
Like gstelmack, I'll need detailed instructions on anything unusual that needs doing, like changing sliders and all that. Otherwise, I'll log in this evening and take over my Devils. Go to hell, Carolina. |

No need to worry about sliders. The commish sets them for the league.

Sliders can go a number of different ways, generally I like Slow or Very Slow plus a low Speed Threshold. The ones posted by DC meet that, so I'm happy.
Penalties - I've grown tired of messing with. Either they don't get called at all or they get called too much. Whatever we choose, I'm good with. I expect to be in the MAC for a while

Is that for both WR and Defense? I don't normally control my receivers, but I do switch defenders frequently, often to my detriment.

It applied to both defense and offense last year.
FWIW, if I switch, it often causes a blown assignment too. I blame a general lack of coordination and being in my forties. |

I'll be back home on Friday, so I'll log in and check then. But there is a hold on my Xbox Live account. Last week I got a couple of emails that 600 then 400 points were purchased. Interesting, because I wasn't home at the time, and no one was at the house. They put a hold on the account while they are investigating.

Car broke down on me yesterday on the way back home from Ft. Worth. Got home earlier this afternoon, but haven't had a chance to check and see what my Xbox Live account looks like. I'll do so this evening.

Well, that sucks. My account is locked out until they complete their investigation. They said it could take up to 20 days, and that would be from last Friday, when I gave them the rest of the console info. So if y'all don't want to wait, I completely understand, and hopefully there will still be a spot when this gets resolved.

That sucks, cartman. There will absolutely be a spot for you. Currently, you have up to 6 spots available for you. I think in the interest of keeping people interested, we'll kick things off though. If it was a shorter wait, I would consider holding things up, but I don't want this to die on the vine. I will redo Rice's schedule so that you miss out on a minimal number of games.

Cool, thanks. Hopefully they wrap up their findings soon. I'm really interested in hearing how my gamer tag bought points when my console was turned off.

Yes. That would be interesting to know.
You have no games for the first two weeks. That should get you most of the way, hopefully. |

The website just shows that they were purchased and the last 4 digits of the credit card used. There are no other details published. I'm figuring that something got mixed up in a back end server, since I was about 200 miles away and no one was at my house when the 6,000 and 4,000 point purchases were made within 2 minutes of each other.

Sorry, I meant someone could have logged into your Live ID and bought the points from the web.

Looks like my case wasn't an isolated event, and there might be a possibility that the route of entry to the account is via the EA link. Y'all might want to double check your account settings on both XBox Live and your EA account that is linked to your Xbox account.
