Comic-con!

Anyone going? My wife and I will be going on Sunday, first time ever. Should be a lot of fun.

Maaaaaan, I wish I was down there right now. One of the highlights around my birthday was going to these things when we lived in San Diego.

I'm pretty sure you guys'll have fun.

It's sort of an all in one exclusive. We are going to SD for our anniversary with the added benefit of going to Comic-con. My wife loves it, because she loves to people watch and I love it because I get to geek out.

This reminds me that Adam West is going to be at Dragon*Con. Can you go to that and fight him for Batman supremacy? I'll cheer for you.

If I may be so bold as to converge this and the "watching on YouTube" threads....

I'm skipping this year, unfortunately. Would've been nice to catch up on a lot of books and toys I've been meaning to add to the collection.

MRs. SC and I went on Friday for the first time ever. It was amazing and awe-inspiring. I feel like I could write a book with everything that happened in just the one day. I got a totebag signed by the directors of "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes," which is a big deal for a bad-movie-geek like me. Mrs SC got her "Big Frakkin' Bag." We are planning to do a 4-day pass next year.

Kind of late in reply, but I actually made it out on Sunday.

One of my friends wasn't going to be able to make it, so I was able to borrow his pass. For the first time in a long time, I didn't spend as much as I did in the past Cons that I've gone to, roughly dishing out only $100 on a couple of things (a Mattel King Grayskull exclusive, couple of shirts and DVDs).

While I was waiting in line, I noticed a booth where Virgil, "Wrestling Superstar" was going to be signing autographs. Didn't get a chance to make it out there since I wanted to just get what I was looking for and head home.

I saw Virgil setting up on Friday. His booth was next to Mick Foley. Mick had three guys setting up his booth for him, and he had a line of about 25 people 30 minutes before he came out. Virgil brought out and taped up his own banners, and had no line whatsoever. He didn't even get any spillover from Foley. It was sad.

Seriously?

Damn, that sounds pretty depressing... I guess he didn't bother taking stuff down on Sunday - unless he was there later on in the day when I was there. Wow...

I got a Virgil autograph and picture a couple years ago at a car show. He was charging $20 for it, meanwhile Kurt Angle was charging $5 for his. Virgil's picture quality was way better, but still. That's a big price difference, when it should be the other way around.

Hrm... well, for $5, I guess I can somewhat understand why? Nonetheless, I'm guessing $20 is the going rate these days for autographs. Did it include a chance to take a photo with him as well? I know when I went about a year or so ago, Lou Ferrigno was charging $20 for a photo. He had this detailed price list on the table he was sitting at over at the Con, that totally blew my mind away...
