I have a little girl on the way

Little Mary Beth Mason will join us in approximately 140 days. I'm still having problems realizing I'm old enough to realistically have a kid, but oh well. Now all I'm worried about is screwing the kid up. But I guess that's what concerns everyone.

Man, it feels like it was just yesterday I was telling tales of my college roommate having sex on my xbox controller...

Okay, the last line was a little disturbing.

Anyway...CONGRATULATIONS. You have no idea how much your life will change and you'll love it. And as different as you feel now, just wait till you hold her for the first time. It's the proverbial ton of bricks (in a good way).

Congrats (and you picked a normal name instead of the trendy crazy stuff going around the last few years!)

I was wondering with the thread title if you were the Big Bad Wolf and if you were going to let us know how Little Red Riding Hood tasted

Congrats Easy Mac! Go out and do as much stuff as you can with the missus as you won't get too much of chance to do that after, oh, around 140 days from now.

Then at about 870 days from now, you will have to put your xbox and other electronics up high enough so she isn't stuffing Cheerios in them.

Awesome and congrats. I have two wonderful little girls, and a son as well. As you'll soon find there is something about daddy's little girl. They are wonderful, awesome, and make you feel like a million bucks. But the scary thing is watching them grow up into awesome, smart, talented, beautiful women. Trust me, you'll feel my pain.

As a side note...not that I know you...but remind me never to play X-Box at your place.

Cheers! and congrats again.

My only advice is to exclude the Xbox tale from the Bedtime story rotation after she is born.

Congratulations, it is a little daunting thinking about your first child coming, but you will probably be surprised how much your instincts kick in.....and it almost becomes easy Here is to a happy, healthy little girl in 140 days.

This is a given. Parenting becomes fun once you accept it and just try to enjoy the screwing up process.

Here's a foretaste of the emotions you're getting yourself into:

especially around 3.27.

I can recall watching my own daughter - aged 8 at the time - go on stage in a talent contest and sing "We are Australians" and the joy on her face when everyone stood up and applauded at the end.
