Eagles- Falcons

My bold prediction (Falcon's fans are not going to like it)- The Falcons will continue their streak of not having back-to-back winning seasons. There will at least be one major injury tonight, and the Eagles are going to blow the Black Birds out in the Dome. The secondary is going to give up long pass after long pass tonight and through-out the season, and the defense will end up with the worst pass defense in the league.

I hope all of that is not true, and by saying it out loud it will remove the jinx. Sadly, I really don't think that will be the case.

With the schedule we have this year, if we go 10-6, Blank, Mora and Vick deserve keys to the city. Key questions this seasons...

  • Can the Birds navigate a murderous schedule and stay relatively injury-free while winning enough games to keep the franchise moving forward?
  • Vick enters a key season in his development. Based on the development arc of other QB's, this could be *the* critical year to see what he's going to become. Will another season in the new offense be the key for him?
  • D. Hall also is in a position to have a step-it-up season. How does he look?
  • Will an above-average wide receiver emerge?
  • Can Warrick still get it done, and will TJ remain content as a backup?
I'll have to miss the first few minutes of this one tonight, but am looking forward to picking it up some time in the first quarter.

All I know is that I need 20 points from Brian Westbrook and the Eagles D....Possible, but not very likely.

All I need is 102 points from Mike Vick. Think I'll get them?

In one league I need Akers to kick 2 XPs or 1 FG.

In another league I need McNabb to be unavoidably detained by a roving band of rabid midget line dancers.

Sounds like we have kinda the same situation.

I've got an 18 point lead right now.
They've got McNabb left to play
And I've got Vick left to play.

And yet, somehow, I feel like I'm going to have to be lucky to pull this out.

1. I like the Eagles.

2. I need the final point total to be between 43-48 to win my office pool.

3. I need Warrick Dunn to outscore David Akers by 2.02 points to win my one winnable fantasy football game tonight.

I hope McNabb chokes.

Culpepper has been (historically) a much better QB that I don't get where the hype comes from for McNabb.

I disagree. I think Culpepper is hugely overrated.

There stats are fairly even, McNabb has had much worse receivers historically, and has turned the ball over much less than Culpepper.

He's also had a better defense historically.

Maybe I'm issing something, but how does having no defense make Culpepper fumble roughly every single time he has the ball in his hand?

So your argument for Culpepper is just a list of excuses?

How about after this season, you all can argue if McNabb or Culpepper is better? As I see it this is the defining year for Culpepper, with Moss gone.

Last thoughts...

You said Culpepper fumbled a lot. I agree; however, you can't dispute the fact that McNabb has had a better defense (and coach (thanks FN)) than Culpepper.

Also, it isn't excuses for Culpepper, it's reasons why McNabb is good...the same way Trent Dilfer was good in Baltimore.

Jerimiah Trotter (PHI) and Kevin Mathis (ATL) have been ejected before the game has even begun.

If it has been just a slap, I don't think they would have been ejected. But there was pretty sustained cat-fighting, grabbing, shoving, etc.
