Computer Issue

So I woke up yesterday to see that everything on my computer is gone. Pictures, files, programs, basically it looked like it did the first time I booted it up. I got a message that windows had applied an update. I tried doing a system restore, and that brought everything back up.

I wake up today, same thing.

I'm using vista. The problem seems to be the windows update because I can see where it says "shut down now to install updates". Any ideas how to stop this?

Now, whenever I click on my documents, my music, etc, it says "Class not registered"
