When I lived out in California, my apartment was on the other side of the bomb range from where the cannonball landed. If they would have shot west instead of east, it would have landed in the vicinity of my old place.

It's amazing to me that reality-type TV shows haven't caused more mayhem and destruction in our society. I definitely thought that was would be the case 10 years ago or so. So I say, the occasional cannonball through the window is a small price to play for lowbrow, inexpensive, writer-free casual entertainment!!

Have you ever seen that show? This isn't what I believe anyone would call "reality TV" or at least not something to group with it. It's definitely not lowbrow, doubt that it is very inexpensive and instead of writers they have technical experts that are used.

It's still TV. They're blowing shit up and shooting cannonballs into houses.

Maybe it's not lowbrow for TV, but I'd put it in the realm of reality TV of the last decade that I'm surprised hasn't caused more property damage/mayhem/fatalities.

Not sure what you would call reality TV but I wouldn't classify this show as reality TV. Reality TV is Survivor, Real Housewives of whatever stupid place they have found, Jersey Shore, Big Brother, etc... Where is the damage, mayhem and fatalities coning from in those shows? Mayhem from the idiots acting like idiots in some of those shows.

Maybe "unscripted TV" is a better term. That's not an exact definition either, because even "reality shows" have guidelines and scripts, as does mythbusters. But I would include it among the explosion of shows over the last 10-15 years ago that have a non-fiction subject. Whether that be science, dating, housewives, midgets, the morbidly obese, whatever. I thought that that explosion would lead to more real-life "incidents" like this, that's all. No "outrage," I could care less.
