Ping: Tom Arnold

Just finished watching Comedy Central Roast of Joan Rivers. Stop doing comedy. Just stop.

Thank you.

I think Tom was drunk. Not sure if that material could have been any better sober though. The guy before him was almost equal aweful. Maybe the worst roast I have seen on Comedy Central.

I didn't want to watch out of fear I could have done better. Hell, she stole a joke from me once!

I watched half the roast. Was pretty bad compared to others. The two funny performers were Jeff Ross and Greg Giraldo.

I didn't see the movie in the theaters because of Arnold, and he ended up being pretty good in it. I once saw a quote where he said that his career isn't dead, he is just waiting for them to make True Lies II.

I have never watched an entire roast, except at family reunions.

Best roast so far: William Shatner

I laugh till I cry every time its on. Fucking HILARIous.

The one for Bob Saget was actually pretty good too.

He was on the Howard Stern show a few weeks ago and said that once Arnold is done with his governor duties they are going to start shooting True Lies II.

Whitney Cummings was by far the best roaster of a sub-par roast. She was absolutely ruthless.

She was great. I actually thought Brad Garrett was pretty damned funny as well.

Re-watching that movie it's amazing how ugly Eliza Dushku was at 13.

There is a lot of truth in this thread.

1) Tom Arnold is guh
2) Oddly, he practically made True Lies fun to watch
3) wtf at Eliza Dushku

Why on earth would anyone watch anything to do with Joan Rivers? Or the small bits of the body that used to be Joan Rivers, now 99% plastic.

It's a roast. Those are usually funnier if you dislike the person being roasted, especially if particularly mean-spirited comedians get up there (Giraldo, DiPaolo, Ross etc.)

My favorite roast was Dennis Leary; now that was an enjoyable crowd. Joan Rivers - who gives a fuck?

My favorite was Jerry Stiller, if only for Jeff Ross busting out the greatest televised joke of all time.

I understand the concept of a roast, hell I've seen a few. I guess I just don't ever find them interesting. Especially when they're for people who are so irrelevant I can't bring myself to care about the roast. But, to each their own.
