Does anyone really use a laptop lock?

Is that like a bicycle lock, so you can chain your laptop to a tree?

In all seriousness, I'm kind of like SI on this, I haven't seen one used in years (since the earliest laptops were rolled out) & didn't realize anyone still actually had them (or even made them for that matter).

To expand, it was a serious question- it wasn't meant to be in a mocking tone.

I had one provided by work but after a week of playing with it, I never used it again. Where am I going to lock it up? At work- where I'm behind a badged door with cameras everywhere and where there are a lot more valuable things to steal than my laptop? At home- where someone breaking in will have the tools to deal with it? In my car- would I really lock it down to something, advertising that I have a laptop out in the open? Anywhere else I use it- airport, library, etc- I'm going to have my hands on it at all times. I was never going to take the minute or two and, more importantly, the carrying space to always have the chain/lock, and lock it down anytime I'm somewhere with my laptop for more than a minute.

Now, there might be a situation where it could be useful but I just never ran into it myself.
