46-14. Good start to the year. QB didn't get rattled like last year after throwing a pick.

What a heartbreaking loss to Clemson. Michigan falls 17-13 after a huge fourth and 2 stop by Clemson with 4 minutes left. Clemson has the best goalline D I have seen. They saved the game stopping me several times, and forcing two picks and 2 FG's.
This was pure D though. Clemson finished with 274 yards, but take away two plays that basically had no relevance to the outcome and they have anout 190 yards. Michigan finished with 183 yards. I had both my QB's hurt twice, and my RB hurt once for the half. Basically all the scoring happened in the first 30 seconds too. I had a pick 6 and then Karl returned the ensuing kick for a TD. Oof, such a heartbreaker. |

WOOOOOOOO! Man...what a tough win. I lost a ton of offensive talent this offseason, and the difference is way more than negligible. I took out Willy Korn after a poor start, and inserted new recruit Al Francis in at QB.
He breathed life into the offense at times, and my defense is the fucking truth this year. I'm so happy with how it played when it came down to it. There were times when Detox was just gashing us with runs, but then he got down into the red zone, and our defense went '85 Bears. Great win to start the season. Detox will challenge for the big 10 title, that's for sure.

Wow...talk about starting the year out with a bang. You guys have a lot of balls playing that game right off the bat. Grats on the big W, Karl.

A Michigan loss is never heartbreaking... unless it is to Ohio State or Notre Dame.

Don't worry, DeToxRox. Michigan will be off the hook once I get face-raped by Miami of Ohio.

Wouldn't you want a Notre Dame over Michigan win (Big Ten rankings and standings)? Michigan will be 0-2 after next week. Anyways, my internet connection got disconnected just as I started my first game against Stanford. Not sure why. Time Warner sucks. Anyways, we didn't forget the Cardinal upset last year. With a better team, we won easily 42-21. Clausen was on fire, going for 22-25, around 280 yards, no picks, and 2 rushing touchdowns. Our defense had three picks (Hicks had two). One was ran back for a score. Our team has improved from 81 overall to 86 overall. Anyways, I won't be able to do the Top 25 this week. I'm heading out in about a hour and I won't be back until Saturday (I think). I'll start doing it next week. Last edited by Galaxy : 11-05-2008 at 10:08 PM. |

Thanks Galaxy. I really appreciate you doing the Top 25 (when circumstances allow you to).
In real life, ND is my most hated college football team. Followed by Ohio State. Followed by Miami. Followed by Michigan. Last edited by Kodos : 11-05-2008 at 01:51 PM. |

At least BC will have one win this year (of course, last year we started 2-0 :P)

Ohio State beats an over matched Akron squad 98-14. We rolled up over 730 yards without much effort and we pulled the starters in the beginning of the 3rd quarter. I'm looking forward to a real challenge in my game next week against the PAC-10 champion Washington Huskies.

Penn State rolled over San Jose State by a score of 63-10. I got my first look at my overall team rating...it looked something like this.
Overall - 81 Offense - 75 Defense 86 Ouch. I knew I was lacking in talent this year due to damn near every starter on the team leaving, but this is bad. My QB threw a couple balls up for grabs, but outside of that I dominated throughout without much problem.

ND is close to the top of my "hated" list in real life. But, in the RFL, they are fun to play with. Once I get my own players in, it'll be blast. I actually hope Michigan and Indiana put together good seasons every year. Without bowl tie-ins, we need the ratings boost. I think if we are in the Top 8 in the BCS, we are automatically in. Georgia Tech's ratings this year:
OVR: 81 OFF: 86 DEF: 82 OVR is the same as the year 1 settings, Offense improved, defense not as good I do believe. |

Eastern Michigan gets a 60 yard TD run and a 61 yard TD run on each of their first two possessions. Our secondary is slow and poorly rated. If you have a fast runner I'm in trouble.
We take advantage of turnovers, and our defense stops giving up big plays, we lead 24-17 at the half and open it up to a 45-20 lead until a late, stupid pick 6 gives us our final score: Georgia Tech 45 Eastern michigan 27 My two backs ran for 130 yards and 98 yards on 23 combined carries. QB went 18 carries for 63 more. We only threw it 11 times. <3 the option. |

Wow, I believe that is the exact score of my win against Boise State in overtime. We took an INT to the house to win it in overtime. I'll tell you what, it's a different world trying to throw the ball with a scrub QB. He threw a couple balls that were insanely off target, resulting in 2 INT's. I just have to make sure to not throw the ball until his feet are set. My team's ratings are B-, B-, B-, in other words, straight crap. I don't see any way the game against Ohio State will be close. I'd say the spread should be pushing 4 TD's. |

I'm pretty happy with my defense this year. I was able to rack up 8 sacks in my first game against SJSU, and I was chasing the QB around all over on the plays where I didn't sack him. OSU needs to watch the F out.

And by "yours", I meant "your recruits"...of course. Just so nobody was thinking something else...like possibly "all of your pancakes" or even "all your base" if you will.

Indiana travels upstate to take on Ball State, and goes home with a 60-41 win. Kellen Lewis threw for 5 TDs before leaving the game in the third, and newly acquired Scott Allen caught 2 TDs in his debut. The second string defense allowed 20 points, but at least the second string offense put up 14 points of their own in the 4th. Would've liked to have held them to less on offense, but satisfied with the win and no injuries. Bring on Cincy!
Looks like EF27 is our last guy, since Macro is out of town. |

Anyone else feel a bit rusty with this week's games? I haven't played since our bowl game against Clemson. I was the main cause of a couple long scores for the Cardinals. Stupid accidental pulling off defenders...

Just a lil bit. I always make sure to get in some practice reps before every game...but yeah I definetely gave up a few plays for 30+ yards that should have been 5 yard gains because I've been doing nothing but recruiting for a couple weeks.

A little bit. I need to figure out ways to improve my pass defense. I'm thinking of moving from a 3-4 to a 4-3 defense when I get quality defensive tackles. However, my offense was better than ever (well, my main back didn't have the 100+ yard game and big gains, but he's a power back who did a fine job). I was worried playing a rivalry game against the Cardinal (didn't want a repeat of last year) right off the back. The rivalry games are always tough.

I definitely felt the rust. We were struggling so much that we turned to Corp who did a good job of sparking our offense, before he was eventually hurt. Sanchez took over and played much better against a very tough Alabama defense. However, the game was still in question until Malcolm Smith had a pick 6 for 90 yards late in the 4th to give us a 31-17 lead. That was the final score as our defense forced a 4 and out and we ran out the clock to end the game.
Definitely not the large margin of victory I wanted with several recruits visiting us this week. |
