Can't believe no one (Eagles fans excluded) has mentioned Pumpy Tudors yet.

Derrick Brooks

Philip Rivers (sorry, watched him play at NC State, loved his competitiveness)
Chad Ochocinco, because the NFL needs more guys who entertain
Howard Griffith, because the guys that do a good job blocking for runners need recognition, too

Before his recent legal issues / prima donna act I might have had Marvin Harrison on this list as a quiet guy who just performed.

Just to post, this list might actually change if I gave myself time to think about it, but off the top of my head...

As a Bucs fans I would say...
  • Jerry Rice (above all, loved his work ethic)
  • Brett Favre (despite ESPN's attempts to destroy his rep, toughest competative QB ever)
  • Barry Sanders (for sustained amazingness)
  • Hines Ward (for bravery going across the middle--younger days)
  • Randall Cunningham....totally forgot about how much I loved watching him play...he's gotta be on the list.
Top 5 Buc players?

1. Warren Sapp
2. Derrick Brooks
3. James Wilder
4. Lawrence Dawsey
5. Trent Dilfer

No idea....I tried to think about my childhood, what I remember about football from then, and I remember liking Phil Simms. I didn't know yet, at that innocent age, that I was supposed to hate New York teams and everyone associated with them.

None.

I have no favorite players on any other team. Just different levels of hate and apathy.

Moss and Cunningham would be on that list but they played on the Vikings and I am not sure how specific we are getting.

limiting it to people I saw play...thus eliminating guys like Johnny U and Ray Berry and the rest of the great old Baltimore Colts.

No favorite NFL team, so I simply listed my favorite player and then the next four that came to mind.

Kurt Warner
Devin Hester
Ray Lewis
Warren Sapp
Steve Smith (the Panthers' WR)

Man, that's a tough list. I can name at least 40 other players over the years that I've enjoyed watching play.

If this question were Players not on your favorite NFL NOR from your Alma Mater, D McNabb would be at the top of mine.

Sanders/Sayers
Rice
Unitas
Night Train Lane

Went to HS with Reed, so that is a bit of a cheat. Sanders and Sayers were just unbelievable shows at RB. Rice is the greatest player of all time regardless of position. Unitas was the mold for the franchise QB. Night Train was the mold for the game changing DB, decades before any others existed.

Not sure why an apology is needed for picking him. He's a great NFL quarterback and still just as competitive.
