Colts vs. Pats

One of the biggest games of the regular season. It's the yearly Colts v. Pats showdown.

I'm trying to figure out whether to start Manning or take a gamble and start Rivers against SF.

Ugh.

I'd start Rivers against a horrible SF team.

I'm actually not rooting for either team, but that wasn't an option. In any case, I think the Colts will win.

I hate Tom Brady so I'm wanting Peyton to kick his ass and steal his lunch money to get the powerup and win the game.

As a big Peyton Manning fan (Vols fan here) I'm rooting for the Colts. I think they'll win, but I'm definately nervous.

Freaky, I have the exact same QB situation in some FF league. I'll probably start Manning again, despite Rivers' favorable matchup.

As a big Tom Brady fan (Michigan fan here) I'm rooting for the Patriots. I think they'll win, but in reality, I really don't care that much. Tom Brady has already shown the world he's one of the best QBs ever. His legacy is set. I'll enjoy the game, but both teams are so far out of my realm of NFL comprehension (as a Lions fan), I try not to even think about things like this.

All I know is that Mike Vick and the Falcons will destroy the Lions on Sunday. This much is for certain.

I just accidentally chose the wrong option. Rooting Colts, think Colts will win.

The Colts need to sign Tee Martin to play for them in the postseason. He knows how to win a championship.

Is that how it worked out last season? Oh wait, Colts 40, Pats 21 in Foxboro. It won't be that bad again, but the Colts are a better team than they were during the Pats dynasty and the Pats are a worse team. The Pats could win, but it is no longer a lock. I think that was proved the last time they played. I just wish these teams would play in the damn dome sometime before Brady and Manning retire.

That would be like asking USC to come to play on a Divison I-AA school's home. Why should the Pats lower themselves to play there?

Unlike last season, the Pats have a running game. And this season, at least, the Colts don't have a run defense.

And while the Pats pass offense has been fitful, it was pretty impressive that they were able to go to town on the Vikings without even pretending they were going to try to run the ball.

Honestly, I feel pretty good about this game. I think Maroney tears Indy apart. Manning does worry me, though.

I have to admit, I was really stunned by how easily the Pats handled Minny.

The 2003 game? That was so 2003. I want to see it again. What is this game, the 4th or 5th straight one in Foxboro since then?

Oh so you are comparing this team to one that only had a crippled Dillon and was playing practice squaders + Troy Brown in the secondary. Makes sense to me. This is the best they've been since 2004, easily.

Of course, it wouldn't have been that many in a row if Indy actually could have won the homefield advantage.

buuuuut, I am afraid of Maroney running and catching screen passes on the aggressive D-Line the Colts have. We will see though, the Colt offense is looking very good again.

I'm a Colts fan AND I like Tom Brady (due to being a Michigan Alumni)

With that said,
Colts will whip the Pats again like they did last year.

Yep. This is how I see it. And it is all part of BB's master plan. As I stated in another thread in March when Vinatieri first signed with the Colts:

But, I then realized something very interesting. I believe this is the genius of Belichick. Knowing the Colts will still be the team to beat, he purposely leaves off the franchise tag and gets Vinatieri to sign for the Colts. First, it eats up precious cap room so no other FAs can sign (so games will be close), and then Vinatieri misses some crucial kicks in the playoffs, when needed. Pure genius. Has no one else figured this out yet? No one outthinks Bill.

I voted that I'm cheering for the Pats and I think they'll win but honestly, I don't know jack about NFL, so my vote is really "I'm hoping they'll win," as I have no idea if it's reasonable to think they'll win (I guess just looking at the poll results it is...).

Colts fans are so cute always reaching for that brass ring.

It will be a fun game but not all that meaningful in the big picture. Home field implications perhaps but Indy has repeatedly proven that home field isn't much of an advantage for them.

That's the beauty of it. Say Indy romps. They celebrate like it's 1999. Pats just polish the rings and say see you in January.

Say NE wins. They are like "meh, business as usual."

Word. I don't think people realize the amount of money I spent on shitty foam cushion seats to try and create some space between myself and that block of ice know as a seat.

I have very bad childhood experiences from those seats. I have never made it to a game in their new stadium though, from what I have seen it looks nice. You guys did forget to mention the drive up to the stadium or back. Do they still have that small road that is the only way to get to the stadium from Boston?
