NCAA 2003--Punter misses snap!

A weird thing happened while playing NCAA 2003.

The computer lined up to punt the ball. I lined up in punt block, and the computer audibled to max protect. The ball was somewhere around their 10 yard line.

The snap went through the endzone! I was totally surprised. Usually, the ball sails left or right, but the punter catches it and kicks it away. This time the punter went through the motion of catching the ball normally, but the snap was like 1 yard off to the right.

The punter misses it and the ball goes through the endzone.

What a fluke!

Later in the game, near midfield, the same thing happens. This time the punter races back some 25 yards or so to retrieve the ball, and then attempted to kick the ball.

By that time, 3 of my players had converged on him. One jumped in the air and the other two tackled the poor punter. The punter was injured and missed the rest of the game.

The computer uses the backup running back as the second string punter.

The computer only punted one more time, and had to use the tailback. Unfortunately, the center got the snap to him this time.
