NFL Week 9

I know Manziel is starting, but I can't help but feel this could be the old mid-week trap game for the Bengals.

I'm probably worrying for nothing.

Not trying to pile on but I literally avoided this game in my weekly pick 'em specifically because of the Bengals history here, even though it was one of the top two "easy calls" of the week.

Despite the fact that the last Bengals prime-time game, they beat the Broncos at home 37-28?

I didn't say it makes sense.

Plus, that stupid loss last year was almost exactly a year ago to the day, and you're playing the same team in the same place. I just don't want to mess with that.

The Thursday night games have been very difficult to predict. The Bengals should win, especially with all the injuries for Cleveland, but who knows?

If the Bengals lose this one it will be one of those sky falling moments.. But I don't think they will. This should be another step toward proving the 2015 Bengals are a different team than we're used to seeing, no matter the situation.

Not just tonight, but in general, the Bengals bend-but-don't-break defense really worries me.

I don't think Manziel will ever be a great QB but I think he can be effective in the right scheme. The bigger question is whether he could ever stay healthy running like he'd need to be effective in the first place

That was exactly the performance I wanted to see. A little challenge, which was met and bested in strong fashion in the second half. That says there were some good adjustments made defensively. They were suffocating in the second half. Dalton played great, Eifert continues to make himself known. Love this team.

Right. I'm always one of those guys who balms over my losses by defending the losing pick. Basically feel it here, too. I didn't watch, but from the sounds of if the Browns played with them for a full half and only later got overwhelmed. A money line of +550 seemed pretty generous for an intra-division game, following an emotional CIN win, and coming at this stage in the season. So, given the hypothetical chance to bet that game 100 times, I think the +14.5 pays more than half the time and the +550 pays off maybe 20 times of 100.

See, I'm really the winner, there. #degeneratehorseplayer

Obviously just giving you a hard time. The Browns defense played fairly well for three quarters, but it took about 26 minutes for the offense to get a first down in the second half.

That evidence was out there. Not the pictures, but throwing her down on a futon covered in guns, her running away from the cops and saying it won't matter because nothing will happen to him anyway, the fact she had extensive bruising etc. Greg Hardy's a scumbag who should be in jail instead of being feted by enablers, but anyone that's going to call for his suspension now was either willfully ignorant or is just opportunistically hopping on a bandwagon.

I am so jealous of this Rex Ryan coached team's ability to throw and complete the deep ball.

Brutal clock management by the Dolphins with or without this touchdown.

Man, when your team is leading Green Bay 27-7 and your first thought is "the lead should probably be bigger than that", you know things are going well.

Carolina defense looks amazing, Cam has 3 long pass completions, hell of a first half all around.

Two weeks in a row for Carolina to almost blow a very large 4th quarter lead, and its still a WR group of Ginn, Philly Brown, Cotchery and Devin Funchess... but, 8-0!!

Sheesh.

I've got bad feelings about Ben's injury today. It looks like a season ender just at fast glance. It's so frustrating to have this dominating team dismantled with injuries. The defense is still shaky, but the offense really could have been something if the big names had been able to stay healthy.

When healthy or even remotely healthy they are as good as anyone in the AFC. They gave New England everything they could handle and IMO were just a few bad goal line handoffs to the wrong guy away from beating them on the road. If you can do that you have a chance in the playoffs to come out of the AFC.

How hard is it for NFL coaches to tell their punters to kick it out of bounds with a few seconds left? Two weeks running

Well, didn't expect that. Bucs DE Hakeem Spence threw the O-lineman down after the play and got a PF....and Lovie Smith was yelling, "Get off the field!" and grabbed Spence on the sideline to scold him. The damage was already done, but it's about time I see some fire out of Lovie. I like it.

{sarcasm on}

Jameis has not earned the right to be having chats with guys who have been in the league longer than him. Rookies should be seen and not heard.

{sarcasm off}

Something is an understatement. Literally the best offense in the NFL if everyone is available.
