Time to take a breath before November hits where Armageddon will be happening and in the SEC on a weekly basis. MSU plays Michigan in a "I can't imagine this ends well" game. MSU's biggest issue is staying interested during Big Ten games. If they are here, it is going to get big time ugly. At least after it there will be two weeks before the only game in the conference worth a damn happens.

Washington gets a chance to show whether they are upper-tier or lower-tier in the Pac-12 as they host Arizona State this Saturday night. After the way Oregon steamrolled our defense, I'm not feeling that optimistic about how they'll handle a Sun Devil offense that is nearly as explosive. And a vulnerable ASU defense looked much better vs. Stanford than did ours, and our offense continues to really struggle.

Time for some Chris Petersen magic.

I'm pretty sure it's "I haven't been called on" , or at least was intended to be ... which would go along with hand raising gesture.

Heard a stat today:

In the last 149 college football games where 1 team has held another to under 120 yards, they hold a 147-2 record. The only two losses Muschamp has been a part of.

Not a stat you want to be a part of. Just brutal.

Mercifully, no IU game this week. Maybe we can find a walk-on QB to throw some balls for us.

Big game in the Big South this week. Undefeated #3 Coastal Carolina faces hated rival Charleston Southern. The Buccaneers were also undefeated coming into last week, but were shocked at home by Presbyterian, who CCU just beat the week before, scoring around 40 points. CSU could only manage 3. Probably got caught looking ahead to this game.

CSU has had Coastal's number of late-they knocked us out of the playoffs a few seasons ago-and is the last FCS level team Coastal has lost to in 23 games. Regardless of wins and losses they always seem to play very close games, and I suspect the same will happen here, maybe going to OT to decide it. Coastal's advantages are that they are playing at home and coming off a much needed bye week. That should bring them back to almost complete health-minus their best safety who is now out for the rest of the season.

Go Chanticleers!

Officiating question for college. Play in the UNC/UVA game made me wonder what this ruling would be.

Receiver goes down to get a ball and pops up in the same motion. Looks like he is bobbling the ball during that and doesn't seem to gain possession until he is back on his feet. Is he down?

Furman down 14-0 after 2.5 minutes. A fumble was ruled down. Then their punt was blocked for a TD. Next possession a pass should have been picked. After punting, Samford's first play from scrimmage was a 70 yard TD pass.

This is some pathetic football

Nope, wait, INT. And 10 yard untouched TD.

I should mention it's homecoming and they're losing 21-0 after 10 minutes

This Texas team is really frustrating. After great defensive performances against Baylor and Oklahoma, they laid an egg last week against Iowa State. After great offensive performances against Oklahoma and Iowa State, they get shut out today against Kansas State.

If you find some extra of those spare quarterbacks could you send one Minnesota's way. Maybe one that could convince Jerry Kill that it's 2014 and having a passing game is actually important.

Their passing game works perfectly fine. All they have to do is run it 10 or 11 straight times first.

MSU playing like a team full of apathy, and Michigan unable to do anything with it.

I had to turn it off after the targeting play and Gardner's first (of many) turnovers. An occasional glance at the box score is all I can handle. Only question now is how many minutes we'll have between the final gun in Columbus and the announcement that Hoke's tenure has ended. For all the talent on Michigan's roster, this team is just awful.

I care!

UMass continues their plan to have the most exciting season of all time (winning optional). We're winning the MAC East in 2015 before we leave!

Wow, Mississippi State just sealed the game with an on-side kick defense and return for TD.

EDIT: 2 minutes left...I better not say "sealed"...

Who are you referring to, though? Funchess? Absolutely. Loads of talent, seems like he doesn't care. In full Jadeveon Clowney mode. Who else? Jabril Peppers? Devon Gardner? I mean, I've seen lots of highly ranked recruit classes but I haven't seen that alleged talent show up on the field. Or, is that what you mean?

Yes. Every year, high recruiting rankings. It just isn't translating into good teams. At some point Michigan will lose access to top recruits. D'Antonio is destroying Michigan with 2- and 3-star guys. That's going to make 4-star guys think twice about coming here, sooner or later. At some point Michigan will lose its "we're a brand" status.

The next guy will come in with a short freshman class, but loads of high-star recruits. He'll have two young VHT pro-style quarterbacks. A lot will be on the line very quickly.

Wow, cannot believe the replay booth missed that call in Ohio St-Penn State.

Not even the ref consultant on the ABC feed could believe it. Didn't even try to defend it.

Agreed. I am an OSU homer and that was an awful call. I was actually hoping for a legitimate OSU turnover to give Penn St. the "rightful" ball back.

Green was finally getting into a grove but is out for the year. The biggest crime is the wealth of OL talent that has come in and done criminally low amounts of output. Michigan in the last 8 quarters against MSU has 17 rushing yards. Total. Let that stat sink in. Michigan needs to develop better in getting WRs as Funchess is a TE that's been converted, and they have little outside of him. The fact that Morris has developed as slowly as he has should create quite a bit of concern. He's the guy who's built for the system and yet Gardner easily out performs him. Let's not talk about Hoke burning his redshirt.

The defense under performed last year considering Hoke is a defensive coach. Outside of the offense's ability to turn the ball over, the defense really doesn't help in creating turnovers either.

He's had two Top 10 classes. Talent isn't the issue and all the more so when every class he's had has beaten MSU's and most of the time it isn't close.

Was out of the house all afternoon so only heard about this tonight. What level of stupid does Michigan have to be to pull a stunt like that?
