What major metropolitan areas are heavily represented at FOFC?

Obviously we've got a pretty decent handful of Atlanta-area residents who are active members around here. I'm curious what other metropolitan areas have multiple active users. I know there are a couple around Chicago (Kodos and revrew I think...) Who else is within a reasonable commute of a major city?

Downtown Miami is 15 minutes away from where I live. At least in theory or in the middle of the night like around 3am when there is no traffic. I grew up in Detroit so major cities have been a part of my entire life since I could remember.

How major is "major"? I live in Dayton, OH, by itself a metro area approaching 1 million. I'm about an hour's drive from both Columbus and Cincinnati as well.

You count as Cincinnati. Dayton has been annexed by Xavier University.

About 2 and a half hours north myself. Unfortunately, we are not far enough north to be out of reach of the fascism.

i'm not necessarily an active poster with my whopping .33 posts/dayt, but i'll play anyway.

i live in the heart of dallas, and am still a little groggy following last night's quintuple overtime debacle. but i'm pretty sure there are a few dallasites on here, even if their user names elude me right now (probably b/c of said grogginess.)

Xavier AND UC can both crumble off the tops of their hills, as far as I'm concerned.

Edit, due to my quick wit:
I like to think of Dayton as Cincinnati without the crippling race riots.

Crippling is a bit of an exaggeration. They were troubling for one weekend, then they were gone.

I will agree with you on the UC thing, though.

I had to get the XU-UD quip in, though. I'm actually glad to see the Flyers playing at a high level. Not like there's much else in the A-10.

Quiksand and I live in the Baltimore MSA.

Since I work with Metropolitan areas, I'll answer some of the border line issues.

ColtCrazy is a part of the Louisville MSA.

Draft Dodger doesn't live in any MSA.

Dayton is a distinct MSA from Cincinnati.

There are at least 2 other FOFC'ers from Tallahassee, I think, although I couldn't give you their screen names right off the top of my head.

However, we are nowhere near a metropolitan area. 2.5 hours from Pensacola and Jacksonville, 4 hours to Orlando, 4.5 to Altanta, 5 to Tampa, 6.5 to Ft. Lauderdale, 7 to New Orleans, etc.

Tallahassee is basically College Station, TX with a state capitol...and hot coeds and good football and baseball teams.

There are over 300 Metropolitan Statistical Areas in the USA and some are pretty small. The smallest is Enid, OK with just over 57,000 people.

Tallahassee is actually considered a MSA as well.

Marmel, actually lives in the Hartford MSA.

Mind if I ask what you do for a living? Your knowledge of MSA's caught my eye because I'm in advertising & that's one of the few fields I know that thinks in terms of MSA/Metros, etc so readily.

Jon,

I work in distribution planning for a bank so I do a lot of demographic and competitive analysis at the MSA level understanding growth and income and our performance in each market.
