Hey, what type of info can you give me on McCaffrey? Is his style of play fun to watch? Is he a personable guy?

First off, it's Siena, not Sienna.

He is very personable guy; style is nothing to get excited about. His success at Siena happened because he put 2-3 very solid recruiting classes together that, most importantly, had players at each position. He used his bench very, very little. Basically the only reason he did was for foul trouble, and to get young guys that he saw as future starters some PT (Ryan Rossiter and Clarence Jackson). I'm not so sure that will work in the Big 10.

Honestly, the move was probably a really easy decision for McCaffrey. The cupboard is emptying this year at Siena and there are obvious program limitations. Nevertheless, I'm not at all certain that his somewhat unorthodox program strategies will go nearly as far in the Big 10 as they did in the MAAC.

Nope, I don't think he's a good recruiter at all really actually. I think he is a smart recruiter and a good scout and, more than anything, got a little lucky with a couple of the guys he was able to land who turned out to be very underrated. But it's not like he was regularly beating BCS schools for 3-and 4-star guys.

It may well be that he is capable of recruiting well in a BCS conference, but there's really no evidence of that at this point. To be honest, there's no evidence of anything really other than the fact that he has decent roster management skills and is certainly a decent gameday coach.
