I was going to just ignore your attack from the other thread or send this as a PM, but I feel the need to address this publically.

In Suicane's thread, you attacked me out of nowhere and called me a hypocrite. That's fine, since you don't really know me, and you were just angry. I reaponded with an explaination as to why I thought Suicane's thread was bad for FOFC. I was going to leave the thread. Then I saw a post from you, where out of nowhere you called me a homophobe. My blood started to boil.

I'm going to take the high-road and not start a flame-war, but I do feel the need to defend myself against this unwarranted attack.

Yes, I am a church-goer (as you said); however, I am not even remotely homophobic. It's actually something I struggle with spiritually, as I do have gay friends and that makes it harder to pass judgement and such. Also, if you had read my past threads on the subject, you would know that I am for gay marriage, gay rights, etc. No person in this country should be denied rights because of color, sex, religion, or sexual orientation. That I believe firmly.

I think I deserve an apology, but I don't expect one. I'm sure this thread will be filled with more insults and such, but I'm not gonna take part. Time for some NCAA 2006

So a joke on the JBL board makes me homophobic? Unbelievable.

Honestly, I don't care what you think of me, I just wanted an apology for an attack that is both a lie and unfair. Not only that, but I don't need to have a rep as something I'm not.

I guess you aren't classy enough to admit you were wrong.

No apology coming. You seriously scare me, Schmidty. I see you at the grocery store. I see you at the mall. Quit following me around. You're making me paranoid.

I have to be honest, you actually pissed me off and hurt my feelings at the same time. What you said was like calling someone a racist for no reason. Just wrong.

Has anyone ever gotten an apology that they either a) actually deserved or b) demanded from anyone on this board at any time?

I mean, besides from Flasch.

I've always had a problem with the term "homophobe". The homo part is correct but phobe means "to be scared". I do not believe people are scared of homosexuality or homosexuals. I think those called homophobes are actually people that hate homosexuals. So there should be a word that includes the homo part and also reconciles the hate part. Any suggestions? The prefix -mis means bad or badly. How about mishomo.

doesn't demanding an apology defeat the whole purpose of the apology?

Technically he didn't demand an apology, he requested one.

But technically, the Suicane thread never existed, so what sovereign allegedly said never happened. Therefore no apology is needed and all is right with the world.

Except for this thread.

demand, request what's the difference.

If you have to ask for it, it ain't an apology.

either way I have no idea what the issue is to begin with. homophobe, pyrotech, neophyte, gaseous...what's the difference.

Fear and hate go hand in hand, cody8200. Those who hate homosexuals definately fear them.

You better resolve this quickly before this becomes a werewolf thread, because apparently all of them on the board are now.

Nothing, and I apologize. I was making a joke, and it was unfair. I have since learned (a few weeks back) about your orientation. Your politics and tone in discussions annoy me, not what you choose (or don't choose) to do in your life.

I am truly sorry, John.

My orientation is currently SSE. But if I turn to answer the phone it leans more easterly.

Some boards, like the one JBL uses, have a profile option for 'mood' - what mood are you in currently. Shorty, an admin at the board, thought it would be cool to change mine to 'homorific'. Without noticing I replied to a thread that Schmidty had started. His reply back to me is what you see.

You're a great guy.

I'm starting to see the reason so many people I've talked to today dislike you so intensely.
