Saints Row 2

Anyone picking this up? I played the first one after my buddy let me borrow it, and while it was fun, it had so many glitches that if I had paid for it, I am sure I would've been pretty pissed.

I have a bunch of best buy gift cards from my birthday so I might pick it up if reviews are good, but with Gears coming out in a month, I know that'll take a lot of my focus, plus the new Call of Duty also next month.

Anyway, let me know, I am very curious how many plan on getting this.

I've got that Blockbuster Gamepass, so I'll probably rent it in a few days if they have it.

I will be renting or buying it today for sure. Planned on buying it, but as of Sunday's money spent on gaming for the family I may not go that far. I really look forward to it though, just as much as I did GTA IV.

Why don't they have these on the Wii? I know why they don't, but I really want to thug, and there's no way I'm getting a PS3 or 360 anytime soon.

This thread died off quickly. I went and rented it the day it came out, still have it. I hope to finish the story line within a day or two.

The game is a good improvement over the first one, and I am having a blast with it. They kept the stuff I love as well as adding new stuff to play with. It really is a damn good "GTA clone" and is equal to me to GTA as far as the fun factor goes. In fact since one of my favorite things is taking over new neighborhoods and keeping them like they had at the begining of GTA: San Andreas, this game is just as good. A lot of buildings to go in, the customization is great, they added voices for your character this time which is very nice, tons of vehicles.

Speaking of vehicles, they do a very good job of avoiding the GTA problem with cars a lot of the time. That problem being were you only see one or two of the same types of cars at a time. SR2 mixes it up a lot there.

They do a great job of mixing up the melee combat, the gun fighting, the car/air based missions. Sometimes it feels a little too easy to kills the other gang members, but there are times were you die and just say holy crap I was getting nailed there.

Pretty damn fun game. Enjoying it as much as the last GTA I think.

I've been playing the hell out of this game. I read a review somewhere that called it GTA 3.5, and that seems semi-accurate, both in terms of the look and mechanics. There's a bunch of random crap to do at every turn, and I prefer the quick and dirty pace to that of GTA IV which is great, but can sometimes feel a bit too much like real life, and like putting in work. The controls are also a hell of a lot tighter than GTA's kinda loosy-goosy feel.

My wife can not stop playing it. She really enjoys it. I never beat the first one, so I kinda want to go back and beat it before playing SR2. I am really playing GTA IV right now in my limited gaming time. I also need to GOW before the Gears 2 comes out.
