Elton John is gay....

....but should I feel guilty about buying his greatest hits, and singing along to Tiny Dancer and Your Song?

I dislike him for the most part, but fuck anyone who doesn't approve of something you do.

No. There is no limit. Elton John's penis is eternal.

Oh great father of the Iroquois ever since I was young
I've read the writing of the smoke and breast fed on the sound of drums
I've learned to hurl the tomahawk and ride a painted pony wild
To run the gantlet of the Sioux, to make a chieftain's daughter mine

Why feel guilty? What has his being gay got to do with whether his music is any good?

I mean, would you seriously argue that (presumed) heterosexuality has done anything for, say, Ashlee Simpson?

I realize that the basis of my post is silly, but it was basically just a facade to post about my listening to Elton John, under the guise of a psychological issue.

Wait...under the guise of a psychological issue?

You're a damn Giants fan. Why would you need a guise?

And now you ask that I should watch
The red man's race be slowly crushed
What kind of words are these to hear
From Yellow Dog whom white man fears

If you ever have a bunch of strife in your relationship with others, perhaps a stress filled work environment, i suggest that all of you gather together and sing tiny dancer in unison. As we all know, a group sing a long to tiny dancer cures all form of ill will.

I would also say that loophole here is that Bernie Taupin(sp?) is the one who writes the lyrics to Elton's songs.

I was just about to point this out. To the extent you need to feel better about yourself for some reason, you can use this excuse.

What he said... if someone makes fun of you, slap them upside the head and make fun of their music tastes because they probably love Nickleback.

Ummm, those of us growing up in the 1970s listening to Brown Dirt Cowboy knew it was common knowledge and it was reported as such. Unless I am missing the joke...

As one who considers homosexuality gross, I would say that Elton John is one of the few musicians deserving of being labelled brilliant when it's all said and done. A true entertainer.

But the last time I checked, when you buy his CD's, you listen to them, you don't actually have intercourse with them.

Non-issue.

Speaking of which:

Elton John and Bernie Taupin Plan Sequel To Captain Fantastic
by Paul Cashmere

November 25 2005
30 years after the release of the classic Elton John album ‘Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy’, lyricist Bernie Taupin has announced the dynamic duo are working on a sequel.

Taupin unveiled plans for the new work last night in New York before 150 aspiring songwriters.

The sequel to Captain Fantastic will be called ‘The Captain and the Kid’. It is just one of many projects the pair are working on including Lestat the Musical.

Taupin was lecturing about his craft at the Roosevelt Hotel and told the audience how growing up in a small town and writing poetry was “my comic books’.

He platinum selling lyricist said he was inspired to write after realizing Johnny Cash and Woody Guthrie were actually storytellers.

He also described striving for excellence as being the most important part of songwriting. “If you are not maintaining your standard in song writing something is wrong” he said. Songs are all 'moments in time' and thus once complete, writers should not try to go over a song at a later date.”

He said one of his classics ‘Rocket Man’ came to his head while he was driving to his parent’s house and didn’t have anything to write it down with so he kept repeating it in his head for an hour until he arrived, ran into the house, and scribbled out the lyrics.

There is no timing on when we will hear The Captain and the Kid.

Why does anyone care about how Elton John (or any other guy) uses his penis?

Not liking his music on the basis of sexual preference is rather childish and immature.

I usually pop out the inner ring. Isn't THAT why that's there?

..but but but, by buying the album our society is tacitly wishing to all be gay. BUT if the great populace were to ignore say, the latest Scott Stapp album then they would be resoundly voting to ship all the gays off to Antarctica. oh the dilemma....perhaps instead of thinking about it Ill watch Training Day again. Id like to support Corrupt cops.
