The sky is blue

Title says it all.

I'll plan to check back in when this thread tops 200 or so responses, and see how everyone is urinating on one another over the ensuing controversy. I especially look forward to the four-page long "let me refute you point by point" stuff. I'll set the over/under at 2.5 people in the boxed/banned list over the hubbub.

Have at it.

Shoulda gone for something a little more definitive...like 'Kathy Griffin is ugly.'

Yeah, like that could even be debated.

That would have made his point even more clearer when the inevitable debate erupted.

Really? I would be so bold as to state that the title, "The sky is blue" doesn't say much at all. For a simple four word title to lay claim to "saying it all" is a superb form of hyperbole, seen far too often in the confines of this message board.

Anyone worth their salt knows that you will not be able to avoid checking back in much past the 67th response, or possibly 134th, if 200 is indeed the target. And by that point, we will be far past the urination phase and well into the scatalogical portion of the controversy.

Oops... well, no point in stopping now.

See above post.

If you take the statement that "the sky is blue" at face value, then does water appear blue because of a color of it possesses independent of the sky, or is it merely reflecting the color of the sky at any given point in time?

Quiksand, you need to back off your statement. There are some color-blind people who beg to differ. And if I wear my cat-eye contacts, the sky appears to be green. Plus we can only say the sky is blue on this plane of existence. Who's the say the sky isn't puce on another plane. You sir have gotten me riled up and I agree with cartman that you will return on the "...scatalogical portion of the controversy...."

I guess we need Mr. Kitten to defend someone's very flawed and non-surprising opinion of the sky. Then we can have a big discussion.

if nothing else, this thread is an excellent reminder that there is often a tremendous gap between what people think is funny and what actually is funny.

Some people think message boards like this are about having discussions

Some people think message boards like this are about inside jokes

Some people think message boards like this are about no one particular thing.

Some douchebags think that they know what a message board like this is for, and anybody who goes against that vision is wrong.

The worst douchebags post about how much smarter and more productive they are for FOFC, and drop in into random threads telling them how they're awesome and the whole discussion sucks.
