Knights of the Old Republic: Anybody get it loaded?
I couldn't after a billion tries. They are now sending me new disc. I'm so aggrevated because this game looks great.

Got it, I think Philadelphiafan has a review of it in our games section. Very good, enjoyed it, some very very strict hardware requirements, there is a hardware check on the first disk, I needed to update my drivers prior to installation.

By the way, there are a bad set of disc at Best Buy and Sam Goody that will cause crashes during installation. You may have to return several times to get good disc. LA is shipping me a new set.

Got the XBox version, 2nd best XBox game I have played to date (#1: NCAA 2004). Sort of wished I had waited for the PC version as it sounds like there will plenty of new downloads/mods for the game.

I have it for PC, and just finished it a week or so ago. Excellent game. I've heard there are issues with it, but I only ran into a few bugs right up til the end, where it crashed repeatedly on me, although I got through it with some coaxing.

Yeah, I got it for the PC. After the 1st patch run like a dream! I finished it in a week or so, very, very, very addictive and fun. Now, I've started a new game as a dark side main character

I played through the entire game and really enjoyed it quite a lot. I've posted a fair amount about it in the games subforum. Make sure you download the patch (via update function) once you get your "good" disks. The patch is vital to enjoyment of the game.

When I first played the game, I Just played by instinct and never replayed (i.e. reloaded a saved game to a ...) choice. Lived by the decision I made the first time I came upon it and the game was so much fun for me playing it that way.

Loved it, best RPG I have ever played and I'm not even a big Star Wars fan. I hope the next Neverwinters Night is done like this.

Loaded. Played for an hour. Impressive, but I think I will save it for when I have more time.

Regarding the title of this thread, I did get the game for Xbox, and I was fully sober at the time.

Totally different kind of game. JA is a first/third person shooter, KotOR is an RPG.

I played Fallout and Fallout 2. This game blows them away. I really enjoyed fallout, but I find this game is better then fallout in just about every way. The storyline is incredible and more fleshed out then in fallout. Character interaction is better done (perhaps in part due to the excellent voice acting that is present throughout the game.) The combat system in Fallout was great, I think this game also has a great combat system. Graphics in this game are much better (of course that is to be expected when you compare the release dates.) I also think this game has a greater replay factor as I believe gender and dark side/light side will have significant differences in the storyline. I'm not saying Fallout wasn't a great game. It was a great game in its time, and it still holds up nicely for someone who hasn't played it. I just think this game is even better. Of course, that is just my opinion ![]()
