OT: I have learned the true definition of the word pain...

I have blown out my achilles heel, messed up my knee a couple of times and broken a couple of bones but I have never known the meaning of true pain until Monday when I...

passed a kidney stone

All I can say is I would never wish that on my worst enemy!

Anyways I am fine just drinking plenty of water and cranberry juice. My father had them also, when I called him he said "It's God's way at getting back at men for not going through natural child birth."

I have no idea why I am sharing this on a messageboard, it's just amazing that something that is as small the tip of a toothpick can make a 6'5 272 lb guy crumble like a sack of potatoes.

The thing I was told is check with your family and see if anyone has a history of them and check with your doctor.

I hope I never have to go through something that sounds so awful.

My dad had them and gall stones. He also had diabetes and died at 54. Hopefully I take after his dad who lived to be 93 and died of choking on a piece of chicken.

My dad had one about 4 years ago, and it got so bad that he had to go to the emergency room. He was throwing up, and just all-around not feeling too hot. Hope you get well soon!

Dola--HFP, my father-in-law passed one a couple of years ago, and from what he told me, that's a REAL oucher.

Imagine a 2-liter soda bottle filled with water. Now imagine drinking 3/4 of that in one day... Now that's a lot of water.

Thanks ABC for answering SkyDog's question. Actually, that's not that difficult to drink. The bottle seats between my PC screen and my phone just next to Solenn picture, so I just take the bottle and drink.

The most annoying thing is that I need to go to the bathroom (toilets, whatever you call it) at least once an hour...
