Another quick FM question...

I'm playing as Vauxhall Motors and all I can offer are part-time contracts. Will the board over time decide to go professional or do I have to do something to get them to go that direction?

Thanks.

From what I can tell, it's based on your succes, but it's somewhat random. I'm playing a career with Hinckley right now and was able to go pro and offer full-time contracts after I promoted into the Nationwide Conference. But I've seen other guys on here that promoted to the Nationwide and still were considered part-time only.

It's up to the board, apparently - if they think it'll help the team, or is necessary (e.g., they just moved up to a division where every other team is professional), it'll happen.

In my game I am playing in the Northern Irish leagues. Took NI2 Portstewart up to Premier League. All the teams started as semi-pro, even the Premier teams. The end of my first year in Premier, Linfield (one of the two dominant teams) turned pro. They are the only pro team in all of Northern Ireland now. I am hoping that sometime down te road my board will take the same step once they see it may be a must if we are to get past Glentoran and Linfield. Although I won't really look for it until Glentoran has done it too.

You either need to be in a division which requires it (ie. Div 2 in England) or in a strong position financially and have a fairly ambitious board behind you ...
