Do you play with your Wife?
Poll forthcoming.
Video games that is. Wii? 360? PS3? WoW? And if you choose the Pumpy option, please explain.

Wii: Wii Play, Wii Sports, Power Pros Baseball, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, and I know I'm forgetting a couple.
XBox 360: Puzzle Quest and I'm trying to get her into the football games or Call of Duty (particularly since the new one has co-op play) |

I play Mario Kart on the Wii several times a week with my old lady. The only other games I've ever played with her are Mario related too...Dr. Mario, Mario Galaxy, etc...
She's a football fan, but the whole Football video game thing is lost on her.

Rarely... she's the gamer in the household, occasionally we try to play something co-op but then she starts babbling on about something I need to do around the house, notices my character trying to shoot her in the head, and we get into a fight.

Sometimes. She doesn't play a lot of console games, though she will love the Wii once she gets the chance to play it some more I think. We just haven't had the time since we got it.
When we 'play' together is usually when she is playing a game and wants me to get her past something, or as the case with Silent Hill she wants me to do it because she gets scared too easily yet she wants to see the game. Or I am playing GTA and she wants to play a few minutes to beat people up.

My wife has at times gotten into the odd game (Pac Man, Animal Crossing, Bejeweled, and Fairway Solitaire come to mind), and when she does, she loves to play them. But for the most part she doesn't really dig most games.

I don't have a wife. Or a husband. I hope that one day, when I have a husband, he'll play video games with me.

My wife plays a few videogames with me including RPG's where we take turns, and strategy games where we work together. She won't play hardly any where we compete against each other. She has recently gotten into WoW and is trying to get me to play that. Last time we played a MMORPG together was Dark Age of Camelot about 7 years ago.

My wife plays WoW, and in the past has played Titan Quest. We don't own a console, as I abhor them (though I might get a Wii someday), so that's about it.

Mines never plays any game, the last one i remember she playing was Tetris... when it was released like 20 years ago
She thinks games are for kids, not adults, but she is used to see me playing and she is ok with it and knows it's a big part of my life and my main hobby, so as long as it doesn't mean staying less time with her or our baby, that is not the case, she is happy. She only makes fun of me when i'm playing with a headset and i talk with other gammers or when i lose or win a game and i get angry or happy or score a goal and put my fist up of happpiness, like "how can you be as excited about something that is not real?". I usually play games when she is watching something in TV that i don't like (most of the time as i only like sports or good movies/series, but not the usual reality crap that is in TV). I work from home and she is not working now so we are 24 hours in the same house, so we both like to have an hour or two per day for ourselves to disconnect from work or our baby or just from each other, as if you do it all always together, life can be a bit boring imho. It's working for us as we have been together since we were 14 years old and we are 33 now Sometimes i wonder if i would like my wife playing with me, but i think i prefer to do it alone so i can fully immerse in my little fake universe for some time and to disconnect from the daily adult life.

Rock Band and Scene It on the 360. She likes watching me alot of the games and will watch for 10 minutes or so, but she knows she doesn't have the coordination for some of the games.

Yes. It is usually the Wii only for consoles. But most of this is computer gaming, MMORPGs mostly.

Not married but I'll answer because we live together....
The only game we play together now is WoW, but she is a level 70 and I'm a lowly level 28 , so we play together but....you get the idea. The only game we played together the whole way through is Gears of War. She exclusively plays PC games and DS games. She hates consoles. She loves games like The Sims, Roller Coaster Tycoon, Animal Crossing...stuff like that. I'm more into FPS, RTS, Turn-based, etc. But since we don't play together often many times we'll watch each other. I'll watch her play the Sims and tell her to Woohoo all the time . She's recently been watching me play Dead Space because I'm way too fucking scared to play by myself. Edit: I also obviously play text sims and she doesn't get it. The look she gave me when I told her I traded up to 1(1) to get stud QB in WOOF was priceless. Last edited by JetsIn06 : 10-21-2008 at 07:22 PM. |

Used to play WoW, EQ and EQ2 with my wife. I'm still playing WoW, but she's lost interest and is trying to find MMO to play. We play Wii together though.
