No mention of the Amazon DotD on the 80 GB PS3? You're slipping, son!

link? You can't post something like this without a link, even if it is Amazon!

Well, it's technically part of the Blu-ray week on the Amazon Gold Box, which I did mention in the Amazon BR thread.

It's also still $349.

Nope. No splitting hairs on this one.

Is this the best deal out there right now? I'm considering doing this and returning the one I got at best buy as soon as this shows up, assuming I can transfer my MLB 09 files from one to the other relatively easily.

Re-post due to bad timing...

Additionally...what are your thoughts on a service plan for the PS3? Amazon's is relatively innexpensive at $30 for two years, which is half the price of the one at Best Buy. What kind of Sony warranty does the PS3 come with?

One year, parts and labor covered in case of manufacturer defect.

If you've got a thumb drive, yes you can.

Yeah, I think I'm gunna go for it. Since there's no tax on the order, and everything is less expensive. I went from paying $570 at best buy for A.) PS3, B.) MLB 09, and C.) Warranty...to paying $437 for the same thing...and shipping is free.

Just as a heads up if you have an American Express card, some of them will automatically extend a product's manufacturer's warranty for an extra year if you purchase it with the card. I applied for one for that purpose and have only used it a few times (plasma, laptop, etc) and pay it right off.

I think it's worth it. PS3 has some good exclusive games now like The Show and Infamous.

I just placed the order. I should get it in on Monday or Tuesday of next week, then I'll just re-pack the PS3 I got from Best Buy and return it for the full refund.

The wife uses an AMEX on just about everything, but we have cats who shed a LOT, and just in case that leads to some nasty build up inside the PS3 I like to get warranties on elecronics. I'm guessing the Sony Warranty doesn't cover hairballs.

Neither, I'm pretty certain, does Best Buy's.

Not for game stuff, at least. Heat, humidity, dust, normal usage, wear and tear, and power surges.

Unless they added some coverage they didn't tell me about.
