He's right, that was an obvious offensive goal tending call they missed.

Detroit got screwed out of a lot of calls tonight. Just a few seconds before the three Detroit was called for a foul on a play that looked exactly like Billups' three. If Jefferson was fouled by Williamson then Billups was easily fouled by Kidd. NBA refs are absolutely horrible. There are very very inconsistent

And the Western Conference sucks. I won't be watching the Mavs and Spurs tomorrow.

He still didn't hit him. NBA refs anticipate everything. There blowing the whistle before anything even happens.

They've called that all year. Once a guy bites on a fake he's pretty much screwed with a foul call whether he commits one or not. It's not like that was the first time that call has ever been made.

Still doesn't make it a good call. And there were plenty more plays then that where Detroit got screwed out of a call. Detroit taps a guy, FOUL! Somebody on Detroit gets thrown to the floor and there's no call.

They've played two games a a pace that benefits Detroit and came up empty.

I get the sense that whoever plays either SA or Dallas will get swallowed alive.

I'm thinking SA or Dallas will be mighty surprised when they get to the Finals and it's not a cake walk like they thought it would be.

If by "not a cake walk like they thought it would be" you mean they can only win in 5 rather than sweep, then you're probably right. Either Western Conference team can and most likely will whomp the Nets. I think Detroit could make them decent games, but at this point it's going to take some doing for them to make the Finals.

Don't hate the Pistons just because one of their fans is a complete moron.

I just got back from the game. Great atmosphere, unfortunate (from my point of view) ending. This series is turning into a contest of who wants to give it away the most, and so far the Pistons are doing a much better job of that. Some of the coaching moves by Carlisle were questionable tonight as well. I give the Pistons about a 10% chance of still winning the series.

Sorry Schmidty. I don't hate the Pistons. Just rooting for the team that is more local and seeing a Piston fan like that makes it so much easier to root for the Nets.

Now back to the foul calls. Gold101, I compare this to a baseball game. If the umpire is calling stuff 6 inches off the plate a strike all night and you take a 3-2 pitch 6 inches off the plate with 2 out in the ninth, don't be pissed that you just got rung up.

Want to know why the Pistons lost both games? It's not the refs.

Game 1 Free Throws

Nets - 13 of 19 (missed 6)
Pistons - 20 of 30 (missed 10, lost by 2)

Game 2 Free Throws

Nets - 19 of 24 (missed 5)
Pistons - 23 of 34 (missed 11, lost by 2)

Hmmm...seems that the Pistons have been getting to the line more often than the Nets, but they're not converting.

Was a good no call. You could tell by the fact Billups wasn't complaining to the refs at the end, and the announcers all agreed that Kidd did a great defensive job to get his feet set, and arms straight up into the air.

I'm not blaming this one the refs. But if they had been consistent all night chances of Detroit winning would have been much greater. Detroit, for the second straight game blew a win. Up by 8 at the end of 3 in Game 1 and up by 9 at the end 3 in Game 2 and they can't get a win out of it. I'm just very pissed right now, mainly at the Pistons.

And the no call at the end was correct. I knew it wasn't a foul, but I'd like to see the refs be a little more consistent. They call one thing a foul on one possesion, and then the same thing happens and it's not a foul on a possesion later on. It really starts to piss you off.

My bullshit bullshit thread wasnt too bash the refs about that last call either...I totally agree with gold, I am sayin the refs have been callin a bunch of bullshit all game, and series. The Pistons did blow it, and i am very angry, however, a little consistancy from the refs would be nice. Detroit is still gonna win this series, rather its in 6 or 7 idk, but it will happen. Write it down, and o yea, the West sucks, no one plays D, They are gonna be in for a nice wake up call when the Pistons play them, who ever it may be!!

I don't think it was the refs who blew double-digit second half leads in each of the first two games.

See now the unitentional humor is starting to set in.

Nets 2
Pistons 0

Seriously, trying to be as unbiased as I can right here:

Either the Pistons are going to be better than ever or they will get swept. It's not easy to lose 2 straight games on last second shots, much less at home where you blew a double-digit lead.

M pistons were down 3-1 to Orlando, they won that series didnt they, i think so. Didnt they also give up 2 in a row to philly and win thatt series...I believe so... Detroit is used to being against the wall, I dont like it, but for some odd reason, detroit iusually has lapeses like this over a 2 or 3 game stretch, however, they get their act together and rip of 4 or 5 in a row. Beating this NJ club should be no problem. Just remember NJ has to win 4 games, not 2. The Fat bitch hasnt came out yet fella's.
