Fantasy Football Playoffs: How you doin?

Unbelievable start for me in both my leagues today. In my fun league, Tiki Barber went nuts with 249 total yards and two touchdowns.

And in my cash league I have Rod Smith, who has 119 yards and a TD heading into halftime.

I only hope I get efforts even close to this tomorrow.

The guy I'm playing in the first round has Tiki. Thankfully, Plummer is looking decent so far tonight. I hope he throws a couple more TDs and about 200 more yards.

I have a few teams alive and into the final four of their respective leagues.

The most cash is at stake with my team in the same posture as thrym's - good day today.

My opponent in my cash league got scared away from starting Brady and is going with David Garrard. I had Mike Anderson yesterday, and a 16 point lead from last week. I have to make a QB decision this morning between B. Johnson, Rothlesberger and Fitzpatrick (I had Culpepper and Leftwich).

Not doing too bad here.. I am down 2 points right now, but he has had 3 players to my 2. He had Brady, Lelie, and Tony Gonzalez so Brady is the only one that hurt me. I only had Corey Dillon and Jay Feeley.

I have to decide between Thomas Jones against Atlanta or Gado versus Baltimore.. Any opinions?

Interesting scoring question in the Indy-San Diego game. On the Florence interception (which he fumbled back to the Colts) earlier, does the Indy D get credit for a recovered fumble in your league? I honestly don't know how our league scores it.

I had Larry Johnson and the Denver D and I'm down 37-33 to Bosshogg23 and his Jake Plummer, Rod Smith, and Jason Elam. That said, there's a lot of football left to be played.

I am Storming back here. I was down 110-0 going into today, and down 130-45 after the 1pm games, and its now 132-107. He has only Reuben Droughns and Shayne Graham and Terry Glenn left. I have Carson Palmer, Chris Cooley and Clinton Portis going now and I still have Gado and Thomas Jones to go. Feeling good.

BUT, I had Elam in instead of Feely...so there's 6pts right there that slipped away...my fault

In my cash league, my Larry Johnson team has made it to the finals, for a shot at defending our title (where we were led by Larry Johnson down the stretch last season as well).

In my five leagues this year, I went 2-2 this week, and have two teams alive for championships. (Not including the FOFC alma mater league, where my Syracuse team lost this week and is out; nor the FOFC try-to-lose league, which nobody actually followed and my team is heading for the top/bottom next week)

I went 2-1, this week in my three leagues (that's counting the FOFC alma mater league). A team that started 6-0 faded down the stretch and is out, but a team I've really had to piece together due to injuries is in the championship. Go figure.

I'm looking forward to a very exciting Consolation Bracket Championship Title game next week, assuming that David Martin doesn't go ape tonight and out score Todd Heap by a large margin. Woo hoo.

The competitor in me must take the consolation bracket seriously, but this is like making out with your sister while your grandma is watching.

Yesterday i reached the finals in an open yahoo one. Also won my consolation playoffs game in the European FOFC one. I had good chances in the European FOF one at first, as had Owens and McNabb, of course my chances to win dissapeard a few weeks ago without them.

I'm heading for the championship game. Having running backs like Tiki Barber and Shaun Alexander to go along with Chad Johnson at receiver really helps the fact that I can't seem to get a QB that doesn't get injured. Down went Warner so now I guess it's up to McNair in the championship. If McNair keeps putting up good numbers I'm in luck though.

M.Brunnell (Serviceable)
S.Alexander (Stud)

B.Favre (vs. Bears)
M.Anderson (Serviceable)
L.Jordan (Serviceable)
R.Moss (Not playing to stud level)
T.Glenn (Hot or not?)
D.Jackson (How's that leg doin'?)

finals too. but i feel doomed, because ever since TO was benched I have been living on borrowed time and great performances from Anquan Boldin. That's gotta give in at some point. Plus I have Mike Anderson/Edge/Thomas Jones as my RB's, and it's always a "should I play Anderson or shouldn't i?" gamble.

I'm somehow in the championship game, on a wing and a prayer.

QB -- Vick/Garrard
RB -- Tiki, Moats, Mewelde Moore, Michael Turner, Jonathan Wells
WR -- Marvin Harrison, Jimmy Smith, Houshmandzadeh, Tony Gonzalez, Stallworth, Horn

I hear ya. I started with this roster for my opening game:

Kerry Collins
Deuce McAllister
Ahman Green
Andre Johnson
Santana Moss
Alge Crumpler
Colts D
David Akers

And in the Championship I'll be going with this lineup:

David Garrad (or Drew Brees)
LaMont Jordan
T.J. Houshmandzadeh
Santana Moss
Terry Glenn
Alge Crumpler (or Chris Cooley)
Colts D
Jay Feely

Lamont Jordan is the only guy starting from my top 7 draft picks... I basically remade my entire team (most backups included) from waivers throughout the year, with the exception of Crumpler, Moss, and the Colts D.

In my 10 team league, I lead by 18 going in to Monday night, with only Gado left for my opponent. Looks like I'll win that league.

In my 12 team league, I lost in the first round of the playoffs at the hands of Tiki Barber. But I'll be playing for 3rd/4th place next week.

All in all, I'll have a nice chunk of change coming my way just in time for christmas.

Well I won my 10-team league tonight. I finished 9-4, and knocked off both 11-2 teams in the playoffs. All this despite losing Deuce McAlister and Javon Walker, my 2nd and 3rd round picks for the season.

My team was:
QB Peyton Manning, Ryan Fitzpatrick
RB Lamont Jordan, Willie Parker, Tatum Bell, Mewelde Moore, Greg Jones, Chris Brown
WR Steve Smith, T.J. Housmandzedeh, Terry Glenn, Drew Bennett, Isaac Bruce
K Neil Rackers, Josh Brown

You and me both! Thank you Gado for the four points that tied me with my NFL.com opponent and thanks to my higher scoring bench moved me into the Super Bowl!

Where I am likely to get crushed, but I did beat him when we faced off during the regular season...of course my starting QB and the time was Marc Bulger, and RB's were Jamal Lewis and Bryant Westbrook...

But I've been very good with picking up new players to replace injured/poor performers. Here's the current roster:

QB: Rothelisburger, Bulger, B. Johnson (Big Ben starting)
RB: Gado, Moats, Houston (the first two have been my saviors with big games in the weeks I picked them up)
WR: D. Jackson (thank you for coming back this week!), Boldin, Branch, Jurevicius
TE: Gonzalez.
K: J. Brown
DEF: Bengals, Giants. I have been switching them back and forth all season, usually picking the wrong one. Thankfully I got the right one this week, the Bengals. My opponent had the Bucs who got a measly 1 point.

I'm facing this team next week:

QB: Hasselback, Brunell
RB: Alexander, Bennett, Barlow
WR: Harrison, S. Smith, Stallworth
TE: Shockey, Heap
K: Keading
DEF: Miami

So looks like I'm pretty well screwed, but Seattle is playing Indy and there could be a lot of lackluster play and/or starters removed now that Indy isn't undefeated, so stranger things could happen.

Two playoff games, two ties, two wins via the timebreaker to reach the finals. Can't say I've had that happen to me before in fantasy football. If I win the finals through a tiebreaker I can't imagine I'll be let back in next season
