Week 13 Discussion

Figured I'd start it this week.

I hate regional rules.

I have a choice of Jets vs. G.B. on CBS
or Det. at N.E. on Fox.

Great.

Son of a bitch. How many times are the Niners going to have penalties over turned on the road AFTER they are shown on the big screen inside the stadium. Ridiculous.

So when is Lovie going to make the switch or is he going to go down with the Grossman ship? He'd be an idiot to not put in Griese.

I've been solidly in the Grossman camp for weeks and weeks now, and I still think a Bears team with Griese at the helm is one and done in the playoffs..but I have a feeling Rex has a series or two more to perform today and if he doesn't, he's done.

One impressive thing about Lovie (and I'm by no means a fan of him), he's shown in the past no hesitation to pull out starters who do not perform. We'll see.

While I am watching Houston vs. Indianapolis, it is my opinion that Vince Young is going to be a great quarterback in this league. Houston should not be in this game, but he is starting to make plays and he does so while making it look easy.

Reggie Bush has 2 rushing TDs and some pretty good yardage numbers so far, good to see him show up when we need him. (Both Colston and Horn are on the bench right now.)

Great line in the 49ers/Saints game: when 'big' Hollis Thomas bats down an Alex Smith pass, Bill Maas comes out with 'There's a good chance he thought it was a cheeseburger!'

However, this was a highspot, and now he is annoying the hell out of me

Kansas City is doing its best to leave their playoff tickets in Cleveland. The hapless Browns with a backup QB have tied it with :35 to go. No doubt in my mind the Chiefs will sit on the ball to get to overtime, lose the coin toss, then give up a game-winning field goal.

Sweet jesus ... the Browns kidn of pooched kicked the kickoff and the Chiefs let it bounce. Looked like the Browns nearly recovered before somebody for KC got it at the bottom of the pile.

Unbelievable game.....THE TITANS BEAT THE COLTS!!! Two Manning brothers beat by the Vince Young and the Titans. The Titans defense kept them in the game. Vince Young helped to bring them back and the kicker made a 60 yard field goal. Great game for one that I thought would be a snoozer.

Yeah, somebody on the Browns staff just went into the supply closet to get Charlie Frye a new clipboard. That was a phenomenal run to set up the game-winning field goal.

In related news, the Chiefs defense will be lined up and stoned with rocks on their return to Kansas City this evening. Giving up a 14-point lead to the Browns is unacceptable. I'm sure Herm Edwards will blame it on the offense for scoring 28 points. If the offense doesn't score so much, the other team doesn't get the ball as often. Great logic. You're supposed to be a defensive guy -- defensive coaches don't give up 31 points to the Browns.

Why did we get rid of Fiedler, Feeley and Ferrote? I mean, all 4 of these guys are the exact same: for every great pass they throw, they throw 4 boneheaded ones.

And I can't believe the Dolphins can't find a DB better than Hill. He is without a doubt one of the worst DBs I've ever since play in the NFL. He's a good 5-10 yards out of position every play, and he tackles like a pussy. Actually I take that back, he can't tackle at all. I hate to see guys get hurt, but I seriously hope he breaks a leg and never plays another snap for the Dolphins again.

For those watching Dal/NYG, did you see anyone touch Tyree then when he caught that 3rd down pass a yard short? Seems like everyone just assumed he was touched, and belw the play dead, but I didn't see anything on the replay...

It's nearly a half hour later, so I could be imagining this...but I think he may have rolled out of bounds.

I still had it on DVR. He definitely rolled out of bounds, but the officials didn't stop the clock so they must have ruled down by contact. Newman made a swipe at him, but the replay is inconclusive. It looks like he may have grazed his shoulder with his finger tips. Regardless, if Tyree had been able to act like he wasn't down he might have been able to get another couple of yards. He made no effort to keep from going out of bounds, which leads me to believe he forgot the NFL has a down by contact rule.
