The Cowboys began making calls on other kickers at least two weeks ago, inquiring into the availability of such players as former Dallas kicker Billy Cundiff. But the team opted to go with Gramatica, who has connected on 138 of 180 field goals during his NFL career.

Oh hell yes! In Big Bill we trust!

I'm not sure how much better Gramatica is going to be, though...

You know, if this had happened in FOF2K7, there would be a bug report and scads of people complaining about it...

This is surprising, if only for the cap hit.

So which playoff hopeful signs Vanderjagt?

From the article

Vanderjagt also didn't like having to kick off, one of many aspects of his quirky personality that didn't always go over well with Parcells.

How the hell can you be a kicker and not like to kickoff?

Yeah, can't wait until the Patriots sign him and he goes 20/20 down the stretch including the playoffs, single-handedly winning them a super bowl.

Very, very interesting move by Dallas.

Wierd.

I bet Jeeber is going to be pissed when he finds out his 60/60 starting QB Rick Norton in HFL is gone for the season(possibly career) and he has to struggle through the remainder of the season with 28/44 Danny White. :x

Redskins | Team could hold tryouts for a place kicker
Mon, 27 Nov 2006 22:27:08 -0800
Howard Bryant, of the Washington Post, reports Washington Redskins head coach Joe Gibbs has not ruled out the possibility of conducting a tryout Tuesday, Nov. 28, to find a replacement for PK Nick Novak. Novak is 5-for-10 in field goal attempts and has struggled with short kickoffs. Gibbs said, "It's a matter of us evaluating things. We work hard with Nick, and he's a hard worker. But for all of us, Nick will tell you, he needs to be consistent. He has won a game for us and that stuck in my mind. It's a matter of someone who will be productive."

Yup, I'm pretty ticked. Though with it only being "Damage to the ACL" and not "Torn ACL", I'm hopeful that it's not a CEI.

Heh, yesterday was Gramatica's birthday. Not too bad a birthday gift from The Tuna, eh?

I was disappointed to see him get cut. I was hoping the Cowboys would make the playoffs and Vanderjagt would miss a game winning 36 yard FG.

I was hoping that Gramatica would mess up. That would open the door for the Cowboys to sign a Zendejas.
