Al Gore's Son Arrested for DUI & Drug Possession
LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. -- Al Gore's son was arrested early Wednesday on suspicion of possessing marijuana and prescription drugs after deputies pulled him over for speeding, authorities said. Al Gore III, 24, was driving a blue Toyota Prius about 100 mph on the San Diego Freeway when he was pulled over at about 2:15 a.m., Sheriff's Department spokesman Jim Amormino said. The deputies said they smelled marijuana and searched the car, Amormino said. They found less than an ounce of marijuana along with Xanax, Valium, Vicodin and Adderall, which is used for attention deficit disorder, he said. "He does not have a prescription for any of those drugs," Amormino said. Gore was released from the men's central jail in Santa Ana Wednesday afternoon after posting $20,000 bail. Amormino said Gore had yet to hire an attorney. Kalee Kreider, a spokeswoman for his parents, did not immediately return phone messages to The Associated Press on Wednesday. The son of the former vice president and Democratic presidential nominee also was pulled over and arrested for pot possession in December 2003, in Bethesda, Md., while he was a student at Harvard University. He completed substance abuse counseling as part of a pretrial diversion program to settle those charges. The youngest of Al and Tipper Gore's four children and their only son, Gore lives in Los Angeles and is an associate publisher of GOOD, a magazine about philanthropy aimed at young people. |

I wonder what a party hosted by Al Gore III and the Bush daughters would be like...

President's kids and wannabe President's kids seem to come from shallow gene pools.

It's not easy to endanger the lives of your fellow motorists while being a good steward of the environment at the same time, but our Prius-driving druggie managed to pull it off.

This would be ripe for a good SNL sketch, but we'd have to go back 10-15 years for that to happen.

That list of prescription drugs is pretty rough. I hope he gets help for his addictions.

the prius element of this makes it seem like an onion article, or a behind the music spinoff. "liberals out of control!!!" too funny.
fortunately, the hot daughters appear to be unharmed. |

Al Gore invented all those drugs, so there is no problem here.

GOOD Magazine, by the way is not very 'good'. It's first issue talked about how 'different' it was, yet it just like every other magazine of its ilk..just with a different layout and retreading less experienced, younger writers. Not that I mind the latter so much, it was just how comical it was looking at it and seeing how there wasn't anything really useful about it.
Maybe laying off the weed would help? Meh.

100 in a Prius. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of owning one? He must have been listening to some Twisted Sister to get that out of control.

In all seriousness, what the hell was he doing with all those prescription drugs? Is Xanax something I'm missing out on?

Whoops!
DUBLIN, Ireland (Reuters) -- An Irish bookmaker who offered 14-to-1 odds that Al Gore would be the next high-profile American to be arrested paid out on Friday after police detained the former vice president's son, also named Al. Having not specified which Al bettors could back, Paddy Power said some of the 50 or so people who placed money on the rank outsider being arrested had been quick to claim their winnings. "We got a good stoning thanks to the vice president's son," the company said in a statement. The "bizarre coincidence" would cost it more than $13,600. Al Gore III, 24, was stopped for speeding on Wednesday and arrested for drug possession after a sheriff's deputy smelled marijuana and searched his car. advertisement Paddy Power, which is well known in Ireland for wacky publicity stunts and for offering bizarre and sometimes controversial bets, offered odds on July 3 that had made Paris Hilton the 2-to-1 favorite to be arrested. It had ranked President Bush and Bill Gates among the outsiders on odds of 33-to-1 and 50-to-1 respectively.
