Thumbs down Orange Bowl Halftime Show

Dear god, that's just awful.

I dunno which is worse, the goofy people with flags and shit running back and forth in supposedly-synchronized formations, the horrid "singing," Mickey Mouse getting funky on the sideline, or the whole damn concept. Probably the latter.

At least there was some eye candy gyrating throughout. What, no wardrobe malfunctions?!?

Let's see 10:40 second half kickoff on the east coast.
Awful halftime show.
38-10 score.

Yeah, that's going to do a huge rating.

Oh, and does anyone else think that ABC's Aaron Taylor looks EXACTLY like Patrick the Starfish from SpongeBob?

P-diddy could've made it at least respectable.

American idol, country singer, and singer wannabe, makes no sense.

Sounds like getting something to eat during half time and missing the show was a good decision.

P-Diddy, Shaq, And Will Ferrell, now that would've been a halftime show.

Another sad thing is that the "performers" will still get paid for this garbage called a halftime show.

Hell, even Shaq would have been better than this rabble. Toby Keith was on the sidelines, they could have gotten his butt out there too.

Maybe P-Diddy, Toby Keith, Shaq, and Will Ferrell were originally planned, but the organizers backed out because of high overhead.

..and decided on those 3 sad-sacks to "perform".

And I love Kelly Clarkson standing there singing and we can't hear anything. This was by far the most offensive halftime show I've ever seen, I'm tempted to call the FCC.

Is it offensive enough to score on USC tonight?

The booing and the quick cut away by abc was classic. Only a Broadway Joe sighting could have made it better.

Reminds me of when Metallica was the first heavy metal band to play at the Grammy's, and the first Grammy award was given right after they performed One, to Jethro Tull. The booing was vocal and loud, and the cut away to commercial was quick, but not quick enough.

How could anyone tell? I couldn't even hear them sing due to the wonderful sound system. The only time you could hear anything was when the taped back ground vocals blasted during the chorus. Well that and kelly Clarkson's off-key guitarist who had his mike turned up (and her's off - WTF?).

Whomever was in charge of that production should be canned. Hate to say it, but bring back the MTV halftime shows ... at least they can handle the production aspects.

Was it just the DirecTV feed, or did they have her lip-synch recording off at the start of the show? I was hearing music and it looked like she was trying to sing, but no vocals were playing.

Did someone get even with her for her reaction to the SNL bit?

My favorite half time show of all time was the Britney/Aerosmith one at the Super Bowl a few years back.

Damn Britney used to be hot. I wish I could go back to those simpler times...

it was the mic that was off, not a lip-synching track. after several seconds you could ear some production guy or someone saying "check-check" into a mic, maybe hers was turned off or was bad.....

she was singing live though

After the idol chicks' sound problems you could hear some background boos from the audience. Then some country guy got up there and after his performance I distinctly heard someone yell 'you suck' followed by some more boos. But after Ashley Simpson peformed, there as a very lound chorus of booing coming from the crowd.

Unfortunately they cut away to a field shot so you couldn't see her reaction.
