I plan on three sim stops during this season, one in two months, one at the all-star break, and the end of season review. There will eb an extra stop if anyone gets called up at the end of the season.

DOLA...

If I can keep a .300 average, I may be there soon, Travis. 3 HR is a bit surprising.

P.S.- larry, can we get some read on the competition we face at our position in the organization? I.e., Boston's 2nd base situation as a whole.

I am pitching better in AAA ball than in AA which is strange enough. Add in that I am still with the AA club and THIS MAKES NO SENSE!

Quite liking the OPS, but I really need to up this average of a HR/28 AB's, make that a HR/16 AB's and we're talking permanent promotion to the majors.

AS requested by almighty, here is the current roster situation with the different franchises at our FOFC player's positions.

Danny Willson
Milwaukee Brewers SS

Majors: 32 yr old Billy Richardson is a pretty solid player with a career average of over .300. He is having a slow start this season, but I'd expect him to rebound in the 2nd half. He will probbaly be in decline by the time Danny is ready for the majors. Backing him up is 29 yr old Anthoyn McFarland, who is strictly a defensive backup.

AAA: The two Shortstops at this level are both hitting over .300 but they are also both over 30 yrs. old, so nothing for Danny to worry about.

AA: Thomas Sessions is a 28 yr old career minor leaguer. Jim Amin is his 24 yr old backup that doesn't appear to have much of a future.

A: The only other SS is 18 yr old Craig Frazier, who is currently hitting .171. He was a 3rd round pick so I doubt he will be able to compete with Danny.

Outlook: Milwaukee doesn't have any decent prospects once Richardson either declines or decides to hang it up. I assume they traded for Danny for this very reason. He should have no problem moving up the ladder here.

Travis Elkin
Boston 3B

Majors: 29 yr old Fernando Altamirano is currently the only 3B for Boston. He hasn't had much success in the past but is having a career year with a .276 average and 13 HR's. The fact that that is career year shows Travis doesn't have much to worry about. Fernando has already struck out 74 times this year, which could be a problem. He also isn't nearly as good a defensive player.

AA/A: Nothing here.

Outlook: There are a few other 3B in the minors, but no one for Travis to worry about. As soon as he's ready for the bigs, the spot will be his and will probably remain that way for a long time.

Tang Le Wood
San Francisco SP

Majors: 23 yr old John Dews will be a fixture for many years on this staff. The rest of the starting rotation is either old or untalented. I doubt any of them will still be here when Tang is ready to make his jump to the bigs.

AAA: No prospects here. Everyone is older than 27 and none of them are any good.

AA: Other than Tang, the staff ages are between 25-27 and none of them appear to have much potential, which si why Tang is the #1 starter despite his struggles.

A: No future prospects at this level.

Outlook: While Tang is really struggling right now, he has very little competition in this organization. The only thing for him to worry about are the frequent injuries.

Rob Nielsen
Kansas City SP

Majors: 29 yr old Alberto Hernandez and 29 yr old Joseph Howard are two of the best pitchers in the league. Hernandez is signed through 2019 but Howard's contract is up this year. 35 yr old Anton Alonso, 31 yr old David Croskey, and 33 yr old Willie Silvera round out the staff. Nothing for Rob to worry about.

AAA: Most of the pitchers have Major League experience, including 34 yr old Jose Savino with 107 career wins, but they are over 30 yrs old and have seen their best years. Rob's only competition here is 22 yr old Morris Edwards, who is having a great season at AAA and already has MLB experience.

AA: Nobody here of note.

A: There are two decent prospects here in 22 yr old Robert Paro and 21 yr old Jimmie Coachman.

Outlook: The Royals have an aging staff and I expect Rob to have a shot to make the rotation as early as next season. Edwards, Paro, and Coachman will eventually join Rob in what could make a great rotation of the future.

Jesse Ewiak
Pittsburgh 1B

Majors: Pittsburgh just traded for 25 yr old Adelando Pascua and he is having a good season with a .320 average and 36 RBI, but his contract is up this year. 33 yr old Tim Pledger has had a decent career but just lost his job to Pascua. He's signed through 2018 but I don't expect him to be around much longer. 25 yr old Robert Kellems is the 3rd 1B on the team. He started 99 games last season and hit .254 with 15 HR's, but has seen limited action. His contract is up and I don't expect him to stick around.

AAA: 26 yr old Willard Batchelor is having a great year at AAA and is just waiting for his shot. When he gets it depends on what Pittsburgh does in free agency.

AA: 25 yr old Cole Wesner is having a prettty good year at AA. He looks to be a decent prospect and is only being held back by Batchelor.

Outlook: Jesse has more competition than most of our other players, but if he fully develops he should have no problem leapfrogging the field.

Walter Alexander
Cincinnatti SP

Majors: 30 yr old Granville Wenz is in the midst of a nice 3 year run and has been selected to the 2016 NL all star team. He is signed through 2018 and will be around for a while. 26 yr old Allen Huggard is having a rough season, but has some good potential and I expect him to be around for a bit. The staff is rounded out by 27 yr old Noel Grice, 28 yr old Luis Hegwood, and 27 yr old Jose Vega. They are currently struggling but have been much better in previous years. Only Vega is signed past this season.

AAA: Nothing special here. Mostly below average pitchers hoping for an injury at the Majors.

AA: 20 yr old Merle Cook was a 1st round pick in 2015. He is having a good year at the AA level and I expect him to move up soon.

A: 23 yr old Donald McCormick is the only other prospect here but he has developed very slowly. He will have to get better in a hurry to challenge Walter.

Outlook: Cincinatti has a decent group of starters and a couple of prospects, but I still expect there to be room for Walter when he's ready.

James Halford
Montral SS

Majors: Herbert Gulick is a potential future hall of famer, but he's 37 yrs old and this is likely his last season. 29 yr old Michael Harris and 28 yr old Matias Prados are both waiting in the wings, and both have the talent to take over.

AAA: 29 yr old Shawn King is having a monster year at AAA with a .302 average and 21 HR's. It's possible he could challenge Harris and Prados for the job next year.

AA: 28 yr old Jesus Menjivar is also having a great year, with a .325 average and 25 HR's. However, his age will probably prevent him from ever making the majors.

Outlook: James has a steep hill to climb for the next few years. A trade may be his best bet.

Al Mighty
Boston 2B

Majors: Lucas Rodriguez has had a fantastic career, with a .298 career average and 142 HR's. He is 36 years old and has missed some time this season due to injury. He is signed through 2017 and I expect that to be his final year. 30 yr old Frederick Andling is the backup but he has had a miserable season and may not get re-signed.

AAA: Nothing to look at here. Just older players holding spots until the younger players are ready to move up.

AA: 26 yr old Timothy Hints is having a monster year with 25 HR's, but the fact he's being held back at AA behind the scrubs at AA leaves me much doubt as to his real potential.

Outlook: Boston does not appear to have much talent at 2b int he future. Al has a good chance to move up if he can develop quickly. I expect him to be in AAA next year.

John Naumoff
Minnesota SP

Majors: Of course, John has already made it here but has been moved to Middle Relief. John was probably moved up too quickly. There is some decent talent in the starting staff, but two of them will be free agents at the end of the year.

AAA/AA/A: Minnesota's situation here is so pathetic that there is no point in gong through each level individually.

Outlook: If Minnesota does not re-sign either of their free agent starters, then John should be moved back to the rotation next season. Otherwise he could be looking at a career as a middle reliever.

I'm gonna sim a week at a time now, so we can get a look at our three guys in the majors.

3B Travis Elkin
Boston

Travis did not make it in any games this week. Boston fell back a bit in their division race. They are now half a game back in their division and 7 games back in the wildcard race.

SP Rob Nielsen
Kansas City

Rob got the first start of his career. After giving p a run and barely getting out of a bases loaded situation in the 1st inning, Rob settled down and only alllowed one more run over 6.1 innings. His teammates provided him with 16 runs of support to ensure Rob of his first major league win.

P John Naumoff
Minnesota

John got quite a bit of work in middle relief this week. On 09/01 he threw 3 innings and allowed 1 run, and 09/05 he threw 3 innings and allowed 2 runs.

3B Travis Elkin
Boston

Travis only got one at bat this week, and struck out. He did get some time as a defensive replacement. Boston is now up half a game in the division race.

SP Rob Nielsen
Kansas City

Rob's 2nd start did not go very well, as he got chased in the 5th inning after allowing 5 runs over 4.2. However, his teammates picked him up and came back to win the game.

P John Naumoff
Minnesota

John did not get any work this week.

3B Travis Elkin
Boston

Travis did not get any at bats this week.

SP Rob Nielsen
Kansas City

Rob allowed 3 runs over 5.2 innings and left with his team down 3-2. Once again, his team came back for him and they won 4-3. Rob is 1-0 with a 5.40 ERA so far this season.

P John Naumoff
Minnesota

John started off the week decently, allowing one run over 2.1 innings and picking up a win. His next two outing were painful. The next day he allowed 4 runs over 1.1 innings and three days after that he allowed 2 runs over 1.2 innings. His season ERA has risen to 5.26

3B Travis Elkin
Boston

Travis got a start on 09/24 and went 0-4 while Boston suffered a 21-6 massacre. He got a chance to pinch run later in the week and scored a run. Boston is now 1 game behind with 6 to go.

SP Rob Nielsen
Kansas City

Rob got roughed up in his 4th start, but I thin the fault can be applied to his manager. Rob had only allowed 3 runs over the first 6 innings, but got rocked for 3 more runs in the 7th. Prehaps he should have been taken out sooner.

Later in the week, he allowed 4 runs in 5.2 innings, but once again the team bailed him out and came back to win 14-7.

P John Naumoff
Minnesota

John got a ton of work this week. It'd probably be easier just to show his game log.

There is a huge series starting this week. Boston and Baltimore are separated by one game with 6 to go. The loser will not make the wild card spot.

9/27: Boston roughs up Baltimore 18-5. Travis gets in late in the massacre and knocks in 2 RBI's. The teams are now tied.

09/28: Boston moves 1 game ahead by winning a close one, 5-4.

09/29: Baltimore evens it up by taking the last game 7-4

09/30: Both teams have the day off.

10/1: Boston beats Toronto 7-4 and Baltimore beats Cleveland 8-6 to keep things even. Rob Nielsen has his best game of the season against Minnesota, only allowing 2 runs over 8 innings. He did not get his usual run support and left the game tied 2-2. The game stayed even until the 12th inning, when the Royals got 4 runs off of John Naumoff.

10/2: Boston beats Toronto 8-5, but Baltimore stumbles in a 11-4 loss against Cleveland. Boston now only needs a win or a Baltimore loss to win the division.

10/3: Early in the day, Baltiore wins a 10-5 decision and puts the pressue on Boston. Boston didn't appear to be affected by it, as they throttled Toronto 19-5 to capture the AL East title.

Great news! Travis has been put on Boston's postseason roster.

Note: I expanded the divisional round to 7 games, because I think a 5 game series is ridiculous.

Boston (84-78) will be facing Texas (98-64) who had the best record in the league this season and they feature three time MVP Jeffrey Singletary who hiy 55 HR's and 146 RBI's this season.

Game 1 at Texas: Boston drops the first game 6-2. No playing time for Travis.

Game 2 at Texas: Travis got a chance to pinch hit in the 9th inning with his team down one run. He forced a walk and came around to score the tying run. This was part of a 5 run 9th that gave Boston the victory.

Game 3 at Boston: Boston drops a heartbreaker at home, 7-6. They were down 6-3 and almost ralllied for the win. No playing time for Travis.

Game 4 at Boston: This was an exciting one. Boston holds a 5-2 lead through 7. Texas explodes for 4 runs in the top of the 8th. Boston scored on in the bottom half to tie it up. Boston scores in the bottom of the 10th to take game 4 and even up the series at 2.

Game 5 at Boston: A rarity in baseball these days; a well pitched game. Boston holds Texas to 6 hits and 1 run over 9 innings to take a 3-2 lead in the series.

Game 6 at Texas: Boston erases an early deficit with a 3 run 4th inning to tie it up 5-5. Texas takes the lead backin the 7th inning and Boston is unable to respond. We will go to a 7th game. Amazingly all four division series will be going to a 7th game.

Boston at Texas
Divisional Series
Game 7

Top 2nd: James Hickman singles and steals 2nd. With 2 outs, Gonzalo Hermosillo strokes a single to give Boston a 1-0 lead.

Bottom 2nd: Hermosillo gives one back to Texas by booting a grounder that allowed a Texas runner to advance to 3rd. Steffen Como knocked him home to tie the game 1-1.

Top 4th: Boston gets runners on 1st and 2nd but canot capitalize.

Bottom 4th: Another error by Hermosillo puts the same runner on 3rd base. This time Texas isunable to bring him home.

The pitchers have really buckled down now and there is very little action to report as of the 7th inning.

Top 8th: 1-2-3

Bottom 8th: 1-2-3

Top 9th:James Hickman, who got things started in the 2nd inning, hits a leadoff HR to give Boston a 2-1 lead. Two walks put runners on 1st and 2nd with 0 outs. Hermosillo is out on fielder's choice, leaving runners at the corners with 1 out. Billy Major strikes out. Texas brings reliever Pete Schroeder in and he gets Thomas Griffin to ground out and keeps it a 1 run game.

Bottom 9th: Danger. Texas has their 3-4-5 hitters coming up and that means Jeffrey Singletary is leading off. Obviously, he can't be walked in a one run game. Boston brings closer Richard Hopping in, who led the AL with 38 saves this year. Quite a matchup we've got here.

With the count 1-1, Singletary blasts Hopping's pitch to deep center field. It clears the wall and we have a tie ballgame!

Hopping gets the next two batters, but Steffen Como doubles with two outs. A single here would send Texas to the ALCS, Hopping strikes the batter out. We're headed to extra innings.

Top 10th: First two Boston batters go down easy. Boyd Tenney manages a walk with two outs, but is caught stealing on the very next play to end the inning.

Bottom 10th: Hopping is still in. He allows a single to Charlie Balbas. Texas pinch hitter Gregory Arriola (quite a name) sacrifices the runner to 2nd. Next batter grounds out to 2nd. Joshua Meany comes up with two outs. He hit .273 with 10 HR and 72 RBI this season. Hopping gets behind in the count 2-0. On the next pitch, Meany hits a line drive over the shortstop and Balbas comes home to score. Texas wins the series 4 games to 3.

LCS: After falling behind 3 games to one, Texas came back with three straight wins to deny the Chicago White Sox their third straight World Series victory. In the NLCS, four games were decided by one run and another by two runs, but the deciding 7th game was a blowout as Atlanta won 12-2.

World Series: Jeffrey Singletary had 3 HR's and 7 RBI's to lead Texas to a victory over Atlanta in 6 games.
